I do bet every week. However, I won't be betting this game because I don't see a lot of value in it. LSU has so many questions on which team will show up, and Tennessee has so many questions at the QB position. If Ainge were 100%, I see a lot of value at Tennessee +3.5, but if it got to +4.5, it'd be a steal.
I lean towards Tennessee as it is, but I won't bet the game, except maybe the under.
I have been checking in on your picks. I saw your name at one of the forums I visit and knew it was the same guy so I have been watching. You are doing a good job. Keep up the good work :good!:
We usually have some of the same plays. I play more games than you is the biggest difference between us.
I am with you on the Tenn game this weekend and think the under 45 may be the best play.
GO VOLS
and, there is all kinds of computer formulas that go into setting the lines.
here's my question VolinAZ, are the betting services worth the money? i'm no major gambler by any means, but i do play around a bit, and it seems to me that they don't really say anything that i couldn't figure out myself.
dude -- you really don't know much about gambling. it isn't in vegas interests to predict outcomes. it is in vegas interests to predict what the general public will think is the outcome. that is why the lines move -- because vegas wants even money on both sides.
The question "are the betting services worth the money" is both silly and quite simple all at once. Gambling is worth the money only when you win, my friend.
goosh doozer your a sucky gambler lolwow. thanks for the enlightenment.
they don't just pull their out lines out of thin air. nobody thinks 'hmm, +3 sounds good, let's go with that'. there is so much more to it that just setting random lines.
nowhere did i say i was a major gambler. i wanted to know if anybody had used a service, and was if it worth it. plain and simple. obviously somebody does because these guys advertise everywhere, but, and stay with me here if you can, it was my observation that they don't say anything i can't read, find, or figure out on my own.
gambling is only worth it when you when you win? woah. did not know that.
VIA,
How so? The entire purpose of a point spread is to divide the money evenly on both sides. Granted, it can be used by coaches to talk about how "No one expects us to win", but outside of that, there's no other purpose.
