The looming GOP split

This country tooks its first step off the cliff when rock the vote came out and barely legal morons began to vote.

No offense but an 18 year old who can't even legaly drink shouldn't be able to sway the fate of the country either.

You're not mature enough to drink then you're not mature enough to vote.

Tax hikes also aren't only going after billionaries moron.

They're going to kick in ard core for those making over 250k.

You take 3% off a billionaire no sweat. You take 3% of 250k and 7500 off the take home and that is quite alot percentage wise.

What about an 18 year old property owner that is in the army and owns a business?:)

Because you think your opinion is the only correct one because you are in the richest 1% of VN...

Sorry, but I pay my share of taxes. I don't find loopholes. Actually, I voluntarily pay extra on my taxes to make sure that I don't owe at the end of the year. I'd gladly pay even more if I actually got something out of it...

I like you. You are one of my favorite left wing loons on here. But you told me you make about 17 grand a year. Or maybe it was low 20's. It was something around that range. If that is true then after your refund is figured into the picture you honestly pay nothing or 5% at most.

That's not fair.

If you paid 5% and I paid 43% because I am black and you are white it would be thrown out in court. But class warfare is totally ok. I don't understand why it is a given and ok with the population to feel it is fair to tax those who make more simply because they make more. Ok,I lie. I do get it. It's because class warfare is the last ok discrimination.

Never said anything about my share being fair. I wouldn't have a bit of a problem paying more taxes if there was any sort of direct effect on my well-being, i.e., the Norwegian socialist system. And you asked a question and I answered it honestly.

Not mature enough to drink, but mature enough to fight for their country. Careful where you tread, pal.

It's the demeanor of folks like Cantor. The shamelessness of being focused solely on wealth building and preservation for billionaires. I don't get why the supposed Everyman character of the GOP has fallen hook, line, and sinker for their tripe.

seems that helped all taxpayers. How did it not?

- The 10% bracket rises to an expanded 15%
- The 25% bracket rises to 28%
- The 28% bracket rises to 31%
- The 33% bracket rises to 36%
- The 35% bracket rises to 39.6%

Higher taxes on marriage and family. The “marriage penalty” (narrower tax brackets for married couples) will return from the first dollar of income. The child tax credit will be cut in half from $1000 to $500 per child. The standard deduction will no longer be doubled for married couples relative to the single level. The dependent care and adoption tax credits will be cut.

Stopped repeal of the Bush tax cuts.

and that helped billionares in what matter? do you really think billionares (i.e. people who have already made their money and paid their taxes) are concerned with marginal tax rates? it's the working rich, i.e people trying to become millionares and billionares, who get screwed here.

If not then I suppose you are okay with eliminating the Bush tax cuts on only those making over, say, $20 million a year, in passive or active income?

Glad we see eye to eye on this.

that's a targeted tax hike and can't be joined with the Bush cuts except by those who want to try and sell it to the masses

I don't understand why this is a difficult concept for many. Wealth is untaxable, regardless how gained. Current income is taxable. High earners and the wealthy are different people. Once the wealth is accumulated, it's off limits. Very much the reason that Joe Kennedy jumped all over insider trading after he had made a fortune off of it.

TP won't let you.

the TP realize that it's good politics to stick to your promises. what i dont' get is why obama wont agree to eliminating some tax loopholes rather than simply focusing on income tax rates. i guess he thinks the american people are too stupid to understand that revenue is revenue no matter where it comes from.

That's why I always stress active and passive income.

I assume most multimillionaires and billionaires don't keep their money under the mattress.
