I was just watching a video where the talking head mentioned that if Tennessee is to beat Bama at Bryant Denny they need to do like the other UT and score in the 30's. And of course I thought this was a crazy statement; therefore I went back and looked at their schedule so far. Unbelievably Alabama has scored the exact same amount in the last three games inside Bryant Denny.............which is 24. Those three teams were Texas, Ole Miss, and Ark., and of course the Vols D is better than any of those teams. What's also curious is the over under is set at 49. I could be totally wrong, but which team reaches 24 wins.

You know none of this has any bearing on our game, right? We got smoked by Florida on the road. Bama will beat us by double digits. There’s a reason we’re a ten point underdog.

I was pondering this sort of thing yesterday. I don't know if 24 points wins it but I think the first team to 24 wins.

How much have you put on Bama to cover.

You do realize the O line that played st Florida is not the one that will be showing up in Tuscaloosa?

I think bama will get up a little extra for this game versus those. I also think milroe is gaining confidence. I don’t disagree with the statement. If we score 30+, I’ll feel much better about our chances than if we score less than that.

My Bama fan neighbor is worried. He told me yesterday that Bama's OL is 130th out of 133 teams in sacks allowed. Dunno if that's true but that definitely makes me feel good

129th out of 133 on pass blocking
96th in the country in the run game
gave up 8 sacks in the last 2 games alone (and we have a better front than those teams)

could be interesting ..... we just can't give up the big plays or get pass interference calls

Same.......have several Bama friends and last year pre-game week they kept saying what a close great game it should be........this is the first year they ALL are already scared going into this game and already putting excuses in the chamber in the event they lose. Several are already writing this off to a loss for Bama..........makes me excited.

Its been said 9 million times, but if Clemson Joe and last year Keyton can show up I think we have a chance as long as the other units continue.

What would make anyone think the Vols can score 24 or more at Bama with this offense? I hope we can - I just have seen nothing to indicate that is likely (passing game / turnovers via the passing game / Bama defense is very good / UT’s track record of pre-snap penalties on the road / etc.).

I think we will run the ball well . . . But I also think a one dimensional offense is likely to bog down inside the 20 and end up kicking too many field goals.

The Bama oline gives up sacks. I think to win our defense or special teams will have to deliver a touchdown or two.

Clemson Joe has been MIA since the Orange Bowl

It does not have any bearing on our upcoming game, but it is a good indicator of what bama is offensively. Statistically, UT has a better defense than Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Texas. All of those teams held bama to 24 inside Bryant Denny.

I have no idea on this one. If Joe shows up like he did for Clemson last year we probably win. If he just manages the game and limits mistakes we have a chance. The more mistakes by him the deeper the hole we will be in. Obviously the wide receivers need to do their damn jobs as well; not all the blame is on Milton.

Bama is beatable even with it being at home. I just don’t know which Tennessee team shows up. I do think if we win it will be a hard fought game.

No turnovers by the offense and make the open throws consistently. Joe doesn't have to be spectacular but at least serviceable for us to win. I like our chances if he can do that with the defense remaining strong of course.

Agree. Really want our special teams to play solid as well. We’ve looked different on the road vs at home.

Amazes me that people can not see the absolutely huge effect Coop's return had on the line. Like night and day difference.
Yup Mincey and Coop are arguably our 2 best OL and both were out. On top of that, we were really undisciplined with like 50 yards worth of penalties by our OL alone on false starts and holding.

Our OL wasn't our only issue that game, but it was quite clearly our biggest issue.
