I'm not sure how anyone can look at these two teams and conclude ANYTHING! I think the line is what it is because (1) the game is at Bama and (2) while we won last year it has been a long time since we won at Bama and (3) it's Bama and (4) we have a history of choking on the road (i.e. UGA and SC last year and UF this year). Yes, ladies and gentlemen, believe it or not even with Hooker we choked on the road last year in the big, must win games!

Based on recent play and comparison to a common opponent, the only assumption one could possibly make is that it is likely to be a game dominated by the defenses. Barring mistakes, that implies this will be a low scoring game and that the final outcome will be close (probably 7 or less points).

If you think either team is going to run away with this game, then you must be concluding that one of these defenses is going to break badly allowing the other team to score a lot of points OR you must be concluding that one of the teams is going to make a lot of mistakes that result with points scored.

Tennessee's chances depend upon the run game offensively, that is not because of Milton, but because I think that is what we do best and what we are as a team this year. This is not going to be like last year. Both teams are not the same teams they were last year.

Just make sure we do not hurt Milroe. I am tired of making second stringers into All-Americans.
Milroe is better than any other QB on bama’s roster by a wide margin. If either of the back up QBs play due to injury, then that would favor us tremendously.

You know none of this has any bearing on our game, right? We got smoked by Florida on the road. Bama will beat us by double digits. There’s a reason we’re a ten point underdog.
Great insight. Guess the team shouldn't even travel

The points scored and the end result will primarily depend on the QB play of both teams.

I was just watching a video where the talking head mentioned that if Tennessee is to beat Bama at Bryant Denny they need to do like the other UT and score in the 30's. And of course I thought this was a crazy statement; therefore I went back and looked at their schedule so far. Unbelievably Alabama has scored the exact same amount in the last three games inside Bryant Denny.............which is 24. Those three teams were Texas, Ole Miss, and Ark., and of course the Vols D is better than any of those teams. What's also curious is the over under is set at 49. I could be totally wrong, but which team reaches 24 wins.
I agree with the outcome, and my negativity about us being the victors is how we get there. Given how good these defenses are, I think the team that gets to 24 will hinge on a handful of explosive plays. Milroe and Burton have been that for the Tide, but I'm not sure who that is for us.

Disagree. Defense will play the biggest part in this game just like last week. And yes, that will ultimately impact the QB play. It will also impact field position, which may end up being a factor, like it was last week.

This is not like last year with the QB "air show" and general lack of defense by both teams. Both of these teams look to have solid defenses.

Huh.....I picked this game 27 - 24 for Tennessee. Maybe it's a better guess than I realized.
I don’t expect us to score anywhere near 27 points unless we get a pick 6, a kick return TD and a scoop and score. Will be surprised if the offense generates more than a couple of field goals.

The offense hasn't been that bad this year. A&M is at least as good against the run as Bama. They got gashed. Bama is bad about penalties, just like they A&M. Hit one of those passes that was broken up last week by uncalled PI or the horrendous Keyton drop and we'd have been at 27 despite a terriblegage by Milton and A&Ms vaunted defense. 27 is just one more score than 2-5 Arky against Bama. So I don't think that such a ridiculous expectation. Folks are way over rating Bama IMO. They are ripe for a fall.

It’s called being realistic. I’ve watched every game this year. If the game were in Neyland, I’d call it a toss-up, just as I did with A&M. Guess what - it’s in Tuscaloosa, and we are not Texas with a prolific run/pass combo that can outscore top ten teams on their home field. Vegas didn’t set the line at 9.5 so you could win money.

And I’ll continue to donate my money to the athletic department AND the university, and buy my season tickets - despite the outcome. VFL

At some point we all need to stop comparing the 2023 Vols to the 2022 Vols and let this team be who they are.
This is where I am. Assuming the O-line is healthy, I would prefer our 2023 team on the road vs 2022. Linebacker and young d lineman are playing much better since Florida. And the o line is night and day different with Mays and Mincey on the field.

Defense and a strong running game are much better road weapons than the offense we had last year. That was clear against UGA and SC.

I have no doubt Bama will play their best game of the year against us, just like Florida did. But call me crazy, Bama doesn’t tighten Tennessee’s collective sphincter like the Gators do, so I’m thinking we win this 21-17

Keep your $30 donation. You are not a "REAL" fan. I EXPECT Tennessee to win every freaking game. With your dumb@$$ reasoning, the team should not bother going to Tuscaloser. I hear Vandy is accepting Fan Applications. Put me down as a reference!

LOL. I give a lot more than $30, Sweetheart. You must be a miserable human to expect perfection.
