The (many) indictments of Donald Trump

BOTH parties are to blame. Trump and Biden share blame too for the inflation. Trump should have had the foresight to tell any state that wanted to shut down that they were not getting federal money. Would have been wildly unpopular at the time, but it would have been the correct call in the long run. It even goes back to Obama (who spent a ton) and Bushs' second term. Irresponsible monetary policy. It is also important to remember that in almost every instance the Democrats wanted more. Biden would have signed a 6 trillion dollar bill into law, but Manchin blocked it and they had to settle for a trimmed down version. Remember that?
One key difference between Trump and Biden regarding inflation was energy policy. Biden’s war on fossil fuels turned a net exporter of energy under Trump back into a net importer under Biden. As every item produced and sold in this country is moved by road, rail, or air, every increase in the price of a barrel of oil eventually accrues into price increases for everything in the supply chain. If you closely examine the history of this latest round of inflation, it fairly closely followed the increases in fuel prices. Just my opinion FWIW

You feel the same about Biden and son being paid millions through Chinese conduits??

Clearly you haven't read my past posts, or are pretending you haven't, otherwise you'd know the answer to that question. So I won't mud-wrestling you on it.

You're right. We saw this last summer. High energy prices make everything more expensive. There isn't hardly a part of the economy it doesn't touch.

Explainer: Republicans blame Biden for inflation, but are they right?
A headline measure tracked by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development shows inflation across the 38 member countries running at the highest level since 2008, lifted in no small part by the global surge in energy prices. Oil prices alone have quadrupled in the last 18 months (while Trump was in office) as energy demand recovered with economies reopening from COVID-19 shutdowns.

The burden of proof is not on me. That's always been your (all of you) problem all along. You say these things with nothing to back it up.
No Volger, It's up to you or anyone who claims any part of the election was fraudulent to prove it. My proof is that the election was certified in every state according to the rule of law. If you don't accept that then it's up to you to show us what evidence you have. I wouldn't waste my time looking though. People have been doing that since November 2020 and coming up empty. You're out in the wilderness with Rudy, Lyndell, Powell and the Lost Cult of the Orange Man..

NYC battens down the hatches and NYPD prepares to mobilize 700 'disorder control' riot cops ahead of ex-president's possible arrest - as MAGA Supporters Descend On Trump Tower

  • State, city and federal law enforcement have been meeting to discuss how to deal with widespread protests following Trump's anticipated arrest
The Big Apple is ready to batten down the hatches and mobilize 700 riot cops ahead of former President Donald Trump's anticipated arrest early this week.

The New York Police Department is even considering stationing hundreds of riot cops, fearing that Trump's arrest may cause both MAGA conservatives and anti-Trump protesters to face off outside Manhattan Criminal Court as he is arraigned.

Democrats would love for there to be some kind of riot when he's arrested. I hope Trumpers aren't stupid enough to actually do anything like that, but I don't have much faith in that group.

Wow. So if you were a criminal and you were looking for a prime opportunity to commit a robbery, you now know that every available cop will be outside Trump Tower. You don’t announce your deployment plans in advance like that! It is an open invitation for a crime spree across the city. Are there any grownups anywhere in the NYC government anymore? 😬

'Total radio silence': Trump's MAGA inner circle are furious at DeSantis and Nikki Haley for failing to back Trump and claim both GOP rivals are making a 'massive mistake'

Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley have been attacked by a number of Trump loyalists for failing to comment on rumors the former president will be arrested on Tuesday.

MAGA Republicans have criticized DeSantis and Haley for not speaking out against the Manhattan DA's office for what they claim is a weaponization of the justice system.

While DeSantis was quick to be accused of cynical political strategizing. Longshot presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy sought to use the situation to his advantage.

He had stern words on Saturday for the field of Republicans, claiming their silence could be 'the beginning of the end'.

I held a press conference following my South Carolina speech. I called on GOP donor class favorites @RonDeSantisFL and @NikkiHaley to join me by 9 AM tomorrow in calling on the Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg to abandon the political persecution through prosecution of the 45th… https://t.co/UhXfV2ZroP pic.twitter.com/koSbMBwQRy

'The reason I'm doing this is because the rest of the Republican field, I think, has been deafeningly silent about an important issue in the country today,' he added of the news that an indictment could be looming.

'What I'm about to say has nothing to do with Donald Trump and everything to do with the integrity of an election and the integrity of a self-governing democracy,' the biotech multimillionaire added.

'So I don't care whether you root for Trump or whether you don't, if you root for the integrity of our constitutional republic then you need to be on the side of being really clear.'

Ramaswamy has been extremely vocal in denouncing the prospect of an indictment against Trump, claiming that there would be no case if it weren't for the face that the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is severely anti-Trump.

Maybe they just don't want to have anything to do with such a toxic, failed candidate?

The way Trump has mocked and badmouthed DeSantis, do they REALLY expect DeSantis to rush to Trump‘s defense? SERIOUSLY?

Ha. "Rallied" is not accurate.

"Hedging their bets" is far more accurate.

Pence's response had been classic. Bash Trump, but then say that others bashing him are motivated by politics. And funny thing is, the right looks the other way on the former and just promotes the latter.

Which is exactly what Pence is trying to do: pretend to support Trump in the short term whilst at the same time undermining him over the long haul.
