The (many) indictments of Donald Trump

While you’re not wrong…..
Here’s my issue with this line of thinking. It places the problem on your (generic you not you personally) opponents tribe. “We only have Trump because they ran HRC” Bull ****! We have Trump because the GOP nomination process produced a **** candidate. The same can be said for the Democrats. Until the tribes demand better of themselves they should stfu about the opposition.
Well looky here, we are in agreement!

It's all about the primaries.
Once you get to the general, people tend to go with their policy priorities (what some mistakingly call tribalism.)
It's the primaries when you pick the person to best represent your priorities.

I'm guessing you haven't read the Smith indictments... I have, and they don't need defending. There is evidence that Trump has broken laws .... just became he is running for President, is no reason to not enforce them.

... and even if Smith is guilty of a "political hit job" as you put it .... Are you suggesting that merits comparisons to Nazi's ????

Dumb.
To be fair, you’ve gone all in on everything the Dems have tried to get Trump. So far they don’t have a good batting average.

Fair enough.

And the GOP had other good options in 2016.

What about the democrats? Who did they miss on in 2016? The Bern? Lincoln Chaffee?

The RNC and the DNC still have to be willing to actually conduct a primary rather than sell out for a candidate. The DNC did this in 2020, but the voters chose poorly.

In 2016 it was going to be Hillary; it really didn't matter who was in the primaries against her. She was admired by enough on the left that she was going to get the nomination without any outside influence needed.
The DNC didn't get Hillary elected, eventhough she was probably their choice.
My biggest concern with Hillary was how she was villified by the right. I knew her election would be divisive.

Even though I voted for Kasich in the primary (did you know his dad was a mailman) with the way things went in 2016 I don't believe for a second any of Trumps primary opponents could have defeated Hillary in the general. None would have driven turnout or enthusiasm like Trump did, he pulled in tons of those mythical "independent" voters that would have probably sat out the election had the Rs nominated another establishment guy.

I voted for Jill in the general because neither Trump or Hillary deserved my vote.

His Dad was a mailman???? And he still got passed over?

Unbelievable. Maybe if he only talked about that more…..😅

Well. At least she had the Clinton Foundation to fall back on.

How’s that going now that she’s not the Secretary of State and a strong nominee for President? Oh I’m sure it’s just as prosperous as it’s always been. 😉

It is your unconditional love for, devotion towards, and support and defense of Donald Trump, which makes you a member of "The Cult of Trump."

It has nothing to do with policy. You would be in favor of anything which Trump proposed. It's not Trump's policies that you love ... it's Trump.

All about policy. You dont know me or speak for me.

TulsiG And John Delaunay were both on that stage. Anyone who voted Biden is the same that voted Trump. there were better options in the general so those who voted for criminals are without excuse

Vilified by her own doing.

@JonathanTurley

Judge Howell actually agreed that the former President was a flight risk. Trump has 24/7 security. Yet Howell agreed that he might shake his sizable security detail, evade them, and go on the lam. He is one of the most recognized figures in the world, so he would have to go to Mars to live incognito....The finding of a flight risk undermines the credibility of the court’s order....

Federal Court Declares Trump a Flight Risk in Secret Subpoena Decision

On July 14, 2010, Howell was nominated by President Barack Obama.

It's not like the majority of Turley's opinions aren't structured towards defending Republicans, and vilifying Democrats. He is a fully impartial and objective observer.

Wait, @luthervol says you have to vote for party in the general, principles be damned.
