'Florida will Not assist in an extradition': DeSantis offers Trump Sanctuary after former President's attorney said he was expected to surrender in Manhattan next week following grand jury vote to INDICT him over Stormy Daniels $130,000 hush money

  • It marks the end of a years-long investigation into hush money paid to Daniels
Florida Governor and 2024 rival Ron DeSantis offered Donald Trump a partial lifeline on Thursday, saying he would try to thwart the extradition of the former president from his state.

He made his promise after news broke that a Manhattan jury had voted to indict him over $130,000 in hush money paid to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Trump said Democrats would regret ever persecuting an innocent man when his supporters dump them out of office.

And DeSantis described the prosecution as 'unAmerican' and promised not to help any effort to send Trump to New York to be arrested.

'Florida will not assist in an extradition request given the questionable circumstances at issue with this Soros-backed Manhattan prosecutor and his political agenda,' he said, referring to the fact that Alvin Bragg's election campaign was backed by billionaire activist George Soros.

Well if the Feds chose not to pursue it, then the curious mind wanders why TF a local DA would? Doesn’t mean Trumps not guilty, but there don’t seem to even be any Trump haters who think he broke a law in NY state in this case. But props to Bragg for prosecuting someone who’s actually a bad guy instead of innocent Bodega owners.

LOL................Who didn't see this coming in 2016? Good grief, if repubs hadn't been so pig headed and desperate to give the left the middle finger, this all could have been avoided.
And it's only the first.
Trump is and has been a horrendously despicable human and should have never ever been even considered as a presidential candidate.

The shame lies mostly on the shoulders of the people who supported him in the 2016 primary. He should have been laughed out of the race in the first week.

I am sure you are correct in the fact that millions will never vote for Trump.

However, I think there will be millions more that will vote for him after what we have seen so far from this administration. I believe that runaway inflation partially due to the war on fossil fuels, America becoming a laughingstock on the world stage due to inept leadership, the soon to be loss of the petro-dollar which will implode things in this country(see previous two reason for this happening), the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, the outright corruption of our justice system, and the surge left in social issues will cause a lot of middle-class moderate voters to hold their nose and vote for Trump.

Before you label me some MAGA nutjob, I did not want Trump to even run again. I was really hoping for much better from each party.

You don’t even realize the leftist democrats, along with an entirely s***ty candidate in Hillary Clinton, created Trump! The eight plus years of calling everyone not a leftist democrat everything BUT human laid the ground work for him to become president. So point your finger at the vile, vitriolic behavior and language of the left directed toward the rest of America. Don’t think for a damn second your side didn’t have a hand in it.

Trump can become the first in history to lose the popular vote 3 times. If the trend remains constant, Trump will lose by 9 million votes in '24.

That did not happen. It's all a big mind screw from Fox and Company. You can never blame Trump on anyone other than the people who supported him in the 2016 primary. There were 17 better choices.
