I just don't think his stick is as good as advertised. He will still be a good 2B but I don't think he will ever reach his projections.

Which part of the projections do you not agree with?

If anything, I dunno if he'll play a great 2B

I don't think he will hit for a good average. I think he will basically be Neil Walker with a lower batting average, which is still a nice player but not the #12 prospect in baseball.

I know next to nothing about his defense.

He's just never played 2nd before, or not for that long. 2B/OF could happen.

I think he's got a pretty good bat. Raked the ball all over the place at UNC from the start. I don't think he has crazy upside, but I think he'll hit, so maybe you're right about it being a little high based on potential.

Pineda - 6ip, 4h, 2er, 3bb, 9k's against at pretty good lineup yesterday. Kid has got to be the early favorite for rookie of the year. Stuff is nasty.

I like what he's got so far.

Offense hasn't been horrid thus far, but I'm wondering if this team can stay out of the cellar. Still, I have yet to be compelled to watch too much of the M's this season.

ummmm, the only place they've stayed so far this season is the cellar. You might want to look that up.

Still haven't been able to pull myself to invest much time watching yet this season... Good pitchers with little run support may be the most infuriating thing in sports to watch for me.

What the hell has happened to Justin Smoak? He was having a very good start to the year and now he is one of the worst regulars in the bigs.

It's definitely a shame for Smoak and the M's as a whole. He's only 24 so he's still got time to develop, though. His plate disclipine should improve over time as should his contact rate/BABIP. A .255 average on that over two seasons is really low.
