*Cue relaxing piano melody CBS plays during Masters' commercials*

I know there if a golf thread, but I think this event deserves it's own thread. Kickoff begins Wednesday, I believe, with the Par 3 contest.

Other than UT football, the masters is my favorite sporting event of the year.

Absolutely. I was lucky enough to have been invited to go one year by my uncle(the year Phil won his first jacket) and I was blown away by the atmosphere. It lives up to the hype.

I guess OWH will be a day late this year, he traditionally starts The Masters thread on the Monday of the tourney.

Anthony Kim gets a win today in The Shell Houston Open and a little momentum going to Augusta.

If he's hitting it far left off of the tee like he was today Amen Corner is going to be painful.

I think it's wide open. Phil's not driving or putting well enough. No one really knows what we're going to see from Tiger. Expectations are high for Ernie, but he's kind of limping in after a rough week in Houston.

My sleeper pick: Retief Goosen. The guy can flat roll it on fast greens, he's won majors, and his game seems to be back.

I couldn't believe the success that els has had. I watched him hit ball on the range at the honda a couple of times and he was fighting a major slice. He couldn't hit the ball left to save his life.

That's funny... I just now popped in to start the thread.

Let's get past this 2pm Tiger circus and enjoy yet another playing of.... The Masters.
