So fans from other teams, does your fanbase react the same way as this one does? I've never seen a fanbase that likes to tear down their own coaches and players like this one does. It makes you wonder that if football is so important that they meltdown with every loss(or even subpar win) how sad and pathetic the rest of their life is?

I think that I have a great life. However, whether it's good or not, I am extremely passionate about TN football. It affects my life either negativity or positively based upon how we are doing. I think about it 365/24/7. I think I need therapy

Thanks for being honest...and I used to be just like that and decided one day that life was too short to constantly be on that emotional roller coaster..I was a little upset last night to the point of saying to my wife.."I think I'm out after this loss" she responded as a Alabama girl "why should you care about this loss you all lose all the time" :) and shes right I should be used to it by now..I took up hiking and it clears the mind to be alone and see the beauty of this part of the country

Full scale nuclear meltdowns aren't unique to us. Texas is having the biggest one in all of CFB right now. Auburn is having one. Arkansas. Oregon probably as well.

Auburn fans want Malzahn fired despite him winning a NC in 2010 as their OC and getting them to the NC again in 2013.

Texas fans are saying Charlie Strong needs to be fired immediately and that they would have bring back Mack Brown.

I think it's the build up from the past decade of suck that we've endured. We are getting better but OU and FL both should've been wins and the coaching in both was sub par.

I was actually shocked at how full the stadium was at Oregon during their loss last night..I think they were either too shocked to get up or thought they were going to make up 40 points in 15 minutes...hate to say it but I think the best fans I've seen was in South Carolina..they showed up even when that team went winless one year

I've never understood why people let the outcome of sports affect their lives. Am I disappointed in the loss last night? Yes. However, I don't let it get me down. I move on with my life.

We are 3-1 and have wins over 2 SEC east teams and this is the first weekend I've been happy all month

For all you people that live in Tennessee or just the southeast in general its one thing, but its all your SEC, SEC, SEC crap that makes things worse for those of us that live in the heart of other teams and conferences. I could give a darn about any other SEC team, but you bet your bottom dollar the people around me will try to rub their losses in my face. With those its fine cause I just laugh and say I'm glad they lost and join them in the bashing of that team. But whe its UT, with all our talent, all the media, all the hype, and losing 2 games we had won, what can I say. I don't make a point of going out and bragging about wins, not like we've had any in 8 yrs to brag about, just like I don't let a game control my life. But I live in south bend, in, home of ND and heart of B1G conference. I can't wear UT gear without comments and jokes and after this loss I'm done trying to support this team in that way.
During the Kiffin thing and Dooley years people around here felt bad for us, honestly they did. But now we have everything we need to compete and its sad that I can't support my team if I want to go to the mall, or just enjoy time with family in peace and not get stuck listening to the jokes, or the degrading comments, or get stuck trying to defend the garbage product put on the field.

I don't engage in trash talk with fans of other teams.

I'd get perma-banned if I'd started this thread.... Just sayin. ;)

I love Volnation and think the mods and Freak are more open to other teams' fans than most sites.. I still wish we had a big board not attached to a team where everyone could go and interact..I offered to buy mrsec.com to do that but never heard back from the guys that bought it from Pennington..I don't think it is even around anymore

You married someone from AL who has castrated you such that she can call you a loser and you agree? Turn in your man card and VFL card. And, oh by the way, speaking of sad and pathetic, you take the cake. Go be a sycophant on the red tide site or something.

I can understand getting upset at losing and being ticked for a bit after the game. But after about an hour you really should be over it.

Personally if you're in your mid to late 20s or older and your team losing makes you that messed up, then you probably need to reevaluate your life.

And I don't really put a lot of stock of what is posted on a messageboard. It's just a place to vent, and probably a good bit are just posting things to get a reaction.

Yeah a lot of it is but like I said in another thread, I have a friend who works in crisis management and shes says she field 3x the calls for domestic abuse after a Vols loss..now that is probably true for most other SEC teams too but its still a sad statistic

1) I rescued her from Alabama and 2) it takes years to reverse the psychological damage done from being born an Alabama fan..she is coming around slowly :)

That's incredibly pathetic. I mean it's bad anytime, but to let your anger get so bad you take it out on your spouse, just pathetic.

I hate seeing the Vols lose but frankly, the past 10 years have kind of gotten me desensitized to it. I can't even remember the last time we won the 3:30 CBS game anymore. Sad.

I don't even get upset about the losses anymore. I have just enough interest in what we're doing to come on here and offer a few opinions if things go really well or really bad. You can go back and look at my posts from 10 years ago to now and see the erosion of passion. I'm glad to see that some folks
Still care enough to wear their emotions on their sleeves and let it rip.
