The Meltdown That Is Happening At Volnation

Was gonna post something positive but I'm trying to get the negativity out first..

OP you know this board is usually not an indication of how people are in real life.. It's a place where people can say what they want and express how they feel bout the team and the coaches.. It's been a rough few days around here but the sun will come up today and tomm and so forth.. The fans bought into the hype from the media and so forth..

some fans spend upon thousands and thousands of dollars to watch Tenn football and it's sorta an investment for some also.. They jus want a great product.. And when that product fails and money wasted people lose it.. So in a sense Tenn is some peeps life.. Anyways im rambling like i have been since Saturday..

Yeah a lot of it is but like I said in another thread, I have a friend who works in crisis management and shes says she field 3x the calls for domestic abuse after a Vols loss..now that is probably true for most other SEC teams too but its still a sad statistic

That is sick.

I hate seeing the Vols lose but frankly, the past 10 years have kind of gotten me desensitized to it. I can't even remember the last time we won the 3:30 CBS game anymore. Sad.

I can't remember when Verne wasn't slobbering over the other team we were paying in the 3:30 CBS game.

Bad Thread. We're all nut-jobs about our team. Vol fans have a right to be irked. They should be 4-0. That being said, the rest of their season will be better. You will win at least 6 more games.

Meanwhile, EKU/Charolette are the only remaining locks for a victory on our schedule.

I agree with this - people who come to a message board and trash other people for caring too much crack me up...you're on a message board everyone here is a big fan of whatever team.

How about people who post in a thread trashing people for caring too much about an inferior program?

I can't remember when Verne and Gary sounded like they were actually paying attention to the game and/or knew what was going on.

Gary used to be ok, even good, but hanging around Verne so long the bad has rubbed off. Verne is reminding me so much of Keith Jackson after he came back from retirement and did those last 5 seasons or so; I know he has the iconic voice and has been doing it a long time, but he is way past his prime and the game is just too fast for him now.

Stick to golf Verne, it's more your speed.

It's a double standard BIG time. Can't have it both ways. We are allowed to be happy when we win, but when we lose aww it's just a game why are you mad? It's stupid. It's literally what message boards are for...

I agree. If venting/trashing each other on a message board is replacing venting/beating up a spouse or kid, then its a good thing.

Did Cbone say that? That will never happen. he has been on the board for 5.5 years. in that time he has posted an average of 14 posts per day everyday. This place is like crack for him.

That is absolutely pathetic.

I don't even get upset about the losses anymore. I have just enough interest in what we're doing to come on here and offer a few opinions if things go really well or really bad. You can go back and look at my posts from 10 years ago to now and see the erosion of passion. I'm glad to see that some folks
Still care enough to wear their emotions on their sleeves and let it rip.

I'm in the same boat VH. I still get passionate on game day, but once it's over it's over. I supported Fulmer until it was obvious that it was time for him to go. I was ecstatic when we hired Kiffin and beyond angry when he left. Completely meh on Dooley. I was completely on board with Butch, but I'm to the point where I'm starting to get apathetic.

I laugh

Because it's comical how incompetent it is

It's like watching the 3 Stooges

So fans from other teams, does your fanbase react the same way as this one does? I've never seen a fanbase that likes to tear down their own coaches and players like this one does. It makes you wonder that if football is so important that they meltdown with every loss(or even subpar win) how sad and pathetic the rest of their life is?

I just don't understand it either.

Here's my mothers year in a nutshell. A car runs off the road and busts through her house stopping four feet from her laying on her couch. Brick, wood and furniture all hitting her face and body. Totalled her car and caused 30,000 in damage to her home.

Colon cancer and a bad gallbladder in February. One surgery to fix both. Dr said he would never try both at the same time again.

One month ago had the widow maker heart attack and had a stent placed. Taking her in the morning to get one or two more blockages also stinted. All this and she's 72.

The moral of the story is life is way to short for me to be on volnation questioning players and coaches.
