The meltdown that is happening on the two Floriduh boards is hilarious!

I wrote in the other thread, it might have been possible that LSU threatened to sue at that point, as no equitable relief was forthcoming.

Sounds like it. I wonder if LSU said, we understand we'll see you (SEC) and Florida in court. Something caused Florida to cave like this, this is a huge money loss.

Again, that's doubtful.

UF got all cute. When LSU said, "we will play u in Gainesville on Monday night", Foley should have jumped on that offer." Both have easy games this week, so they could have recovered with no issues. Time for Foley to retire. His cheese has slid off his cracker

That never happened. The offered Monday, but in baton rouge

I think Monday was never discussed by either side. Wasn't that what Alleva said.

No. This is a huge money grab by UF. Sure, they buy out an OOC game, but they will make much more than that with LSU playing the make up in Florida. It also gave them the easiest route to the SECCG next year.

UF just bent the SEC over.

What? The game's scheduled to be played in Baton Rouge now.

One LSU fan over there said that your Tickets to the cupcake game can be used for the Florida game.

I think they are in for a rude awakening on this. Their cupcake ticket was probably $45. Playing an SEC team it will probably be more like $90 so I doubt the tickets will be good.

Also South Alabama probably had an allotment of 1000 tickets. Now that it's Florida their allotment will probably be 6000 which changes alot of seats from LSU fans that have tickets to Florida tickets.

Thought this was funny,

Heard a caller yesterday say both teams should have to use their roster from Oct 9th for the game Nov 19th since so many were injured.

I don't know what people are thinking to be honest.

I wish none of this had ever happened.

However, I would trade LSU on the road this season for back to back home games in 2017 and 2018

I thought in long run for McElwains bunch that would be better for you guys. Orgeron wins too as if he is trying to press for the LSU job then scoring another home game in interim will help hid shot of needed wins. To be honest I think all of the SEC hopes he wins out to let him be the head coach to leave LSU down for awhile. :)

I'm excited about our home schedule next year, in spite of breaking in a new defense.

Tennessee, Texas A&M, LSU and FSU.

Orgeron getting the HC job at LSU is good for everyone but LSU.

LSU vs. Florida postponed: How decision made, what options exist for make-up date | LSU | theadvocate.com

this is a quote from the above article, and this is the only thing i've seen about Monday, if there's something esle saying LSU would play in gainesville, i've not seen it:

LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette said the Tigers also offered to host the game on Monday.

Come on in Volnation, popcorn for all!

:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

Do you not realize that the rule is already written that way and that is HOW this interpretation came to being? Read all the conversation on this topic posted in the original thread and you will understand that you bought into a conspiracy theory hook, line, and sinker.

Ok I'm home now and don't have it in front of me.

There are two imperatives.

1. Each team SHALL play 8 conf games.
2. If a conf game is postponed and the two institutions cannot agree on a date the issue WILL go to the Chancellors and Presidents for resolution

I was paraphrasing on the win percentage calculation but yes really isn't clearly defined and that needs to be rectified.

How is this not clear? It gives the imperative in the first statement then the remediation method in the second. It couldn't be more clear. The enforcement of this is the result that produced Nov 19th.

By the way, where is that FL idiot that was posting in the original thread?

Wut? I am in many threads saying the NCAA would never let a team be in the SECCG withought playing all 8 games.

This thread is for entertainment purposes only! :hi:

Oh ok. I just had remembered The Advocate's interview with Alleva on October 9th.

Q&A with LSU AD Joe Alleva: 'That’s all I could do – plead and beg and try to make it happen.' | LSU | theadvocate.com

Was playing on Monday discussed?

It really wasn’t discussed. Although, to be quite frank, we would have made it happen in Tiger Stadium if we had that opportunity to play on Monday.

The only thing that is clear is that the Chancellors and Predidents will convene and fix it. The determined outcome is not specified.

And if you read the docs in their current form closely the literal wording of how winning percentage is determined is a bit vague. I expect that is one of the things that gets clarified.

It was good that the press release made a strong statement that you MUST play all 8 of your conf games to be considered for a division champion. Now they need to go clarify the regulations. And based on their press release I think they will.

I don't understand how Florida fans can be that upset with this outcome considering how much they botched it in the first place. Their chances at ATL this season were alive but still slim.

If anything, they should be happy this happened. They play both West teams at home next year. Look at their away games next year. Just 3 of them (USce, Kentucky, Missouri). THAT'S IT!!! I mean, unreal. They could not be more perfectly setup for a trip to Atlanta next year. It's their to lose. The fact they are screaming over this is laughable.

As others have posted, Florida fans above the age of 22 all realized that we have no chance to win the East this year, regardless of whether, when, or where the LSU game is played.

This is so because, even if you lose to Alabama (and I think most people believe you likely will), the fact is Florida is just to weak to win out.

So if we end up with two home games in a row, and all we lose is a little bit of town revenue for Presbyterian, and LSU gets to make a few bucks in the process, I think we are happy with that.

I would agree if their roster was staying intact. They are probably going to lose most of the difference makers on that nasty defense though. I think their defense takes a pretty big step back while their offense gets a bit better.

Those home games probably won't help them get to Atlanta, but I imagine it will help give them a greater level of confidence going into the 2018 season.

That will be good for the Fla fans as a make up for the terrible home schedule (for entertainment value) they have this year.

I can only speak for me, but I haven't been this excited about a slate of home games since my first semester as a student 30 years ago.
