The Meltdown that is happening on the VN Basketball Forum

That just makes the admin's signing off on the Tyndall hire all the more confusing. He had a well known red flag with the NCAA from his time at Morehead St. The University of Tennessee trips over itself all the time with it's own inconsistencies.

Except the Morehead St deal was with a booster. The stuff that went on at So Miss was worse and the admin didn't know about it. So Miss didn't know about it. Could Hart have dug deeper? Sure, but I don't know if he still would've found that out considering he had to make a hire within a few weeks. Compound that with the fact that it has been stated that what the coaching staff did was so sloppily done then it makes you think that something else would happen and the admin had no other choice. Then he deleted emails back in Nov after he met with the NCAA. Nail. Coffin.

Get outta my d**n head, HF. But yeah. There's a hot girl fawning over you, but you won't bring her home to momma because she wasn't quite truthful a few years back?

I say, bygones be bygones, call him a changed man, etc. Hell, even Louisville took Petrino back.

NCAA would set up a satellite office on campus, and the admin would never trust him to stay clean. I wouldn't either if i were in their place. You say "wasn't quite truthful", I say lied to their face about violations that ultimately led to a huge amount in lost revenue and our program sinking like the Titanic. He would also cost more than virtually any other option.

Petrino's problems were personal. He didn't get sanctions imposed on him and his employer for cheating and then lying about it. If Pearl's biggest problem was woman chasing, I would welcome him back.

Well, you guys can always go with a safe choice like Cuonzo Martin or something. He has a nice mean looking snarl.

I used to always think the funniest thing in the world was reading some of the stupidity in the football forum. The basketball meltdown (and just sheer lack of knowledge about basketball and the situation as a whole) is far better than the post Fulmer resignation, the Kiffin debacle and the process involved in hiring Jones combined.

They weren't personal when he let his man parts participate in the hiring process for that girl. That's a professional problem.

I love Tennessee, and I get upset over things from time to time. I have just learned over time that me blowing up on the internet will change absolutely nothing. How I feel will always have zero effect on anything that happens in UT sports. Some folks, think the AD should call them before doing anything!

Poor guy probably just had a Viagra abuse problem. He meant no harm.

My Devil's Advocate response: Hire a "trusted" former employee of the NCAA to become Pearl's watchdog. That way, compliance is ensured.

Of course, I don't know that a "trusted" NCAA employee exists.

It really comes down to UTK's commitment to a successful men's basketball program. I can't speak to that, but if the men got the support that the women do...

NCAA would set up a satellite office on campus, and the admin would never trust him to stay clean.

I laugh at those that question Tyndall's ability to coach. He's as good an Xs and Os coach as Tennessee has ever had in my lifetime. Just made some really dumb decisions and is now paying the price. A real look at the big picture and Hart, nor anyone else knew about the what Tyndall was up to at SM. To act like UT isn't trying to make basketball a priority is laughable, but I can't expect outside fans to think that way. The truth is evident in the basketball forum. The fans aren't really interested in it. They just expect to wake up and have Tennessee on the level of Kentucky, Duke, Carolina, etc.

If Tennessee were to hire Bobby Hurley, I'd be lost at what to do. When I spurned UT basketball because of the Wade and Allan disaster, I was attracted to Duke because of Bobby Hurley. I follow Tennessee basketball, but I've never been a fan. Bobby Hurley would seriously change that. Plus, hopefully he can be successful for 5 years or so and then get the call to replace K.
