1. Just one of those nights were nothing went right. Just need to move on and pretend the game never happened.

2. The interior defense was a joke. Kenny Hall was abysmal and the guards overplayed all night.

3. Trae Golden continues to impress. That was a gutsy effort from him. His shot looks much better.

4. Cam Tatum and Jordan McRae brought absolutely nothing tonight. If your offense isn't going, play some D at least.

5. Josh Richardson is going to be good. He just really needs to work on his shot.

6. In an ever changing world, Teddy Valentine continues to embarrass the profession.

7. This team still has a ways to go despite the improvements they have made. Move on to Saturday and start SEC play with a bang against a win against top 25 Florida.

Really like richardsons game. Excited about he and makanjoula. Washpun has a really high ceiling too imo.

I'm beginning to think if we can survive the current combined states of UT football and basketball, we can handle anything.

That might be a bit extreme, but this is rough for a sports fan.

Pretty impressive given the fact martin barely had any time to evaluate...besides richardson whom he almost had committed to missouri state.

Especially since he was crucified on here for bringing in Yemi.

About the only good thing I saw was the effort. The guys played hard. Their effort was great. They are just lousy basketball players.

It is absolutely no fun being a Tennessee fan these days.

People need to understand this.

Can you be specific about the improvements you have seen thus far? This team has regressed since the Maui tournament.

They played better than they were.

The defense has been better (till tonight). They do a better job penetrating on offense. They all have improved their shooting. They also have done a good job cutting down turnovers.

Golden wanted it tonight, Skylar looked timid to miss tonight. Woolridge is a nice spark for the rotation

Golden played terrible on D and can't go left. Don't see where he had a great game. He made a few shots and drove a couple of times, but his ball handling, decision making and defense were not good.
And I don't see improvements you speak of.

Golden still took the ball to the paint. He didn't do a great job protecting the ball. The going left/defense thing you have to live with.

This team is better than three weeks ago.

UT simply needs more playmakers. I'm trying to make this constructive and not just torching several Vols but:

Renaldo Woolridge may as well ride the bench for the rest of the season. I can't say why he never panned out, but he is an upperclassman and plays like he doesn't have a clue what's going on or what his role needs to be.

Kenny Hall hasn't developed at all. I picked him as the Vols' break-out player this year and he's almost completely absent from every game.

Cam Tatum is pigeon-holing himself as a purely spot up shooter. Almost completely one-faceted.

Skylar McBee has no business being on a basketball court. I could never figure it out when Bruce was at UT, and I can't figure it out now.

Golden and Maymon are great players in their own rights, but the Vols need more. I like the young guys, they play hard. Washpun, Richardson, Mackanjoula, all play tough. They need some coaching up, but are all solid 4 year players.

Martin will be fine here, especially if he's bringing in guys like Stokes, he'll just need some time to clean house.

Personally this bad showing by hall is enough to give Yemi the start, he is playing very well...

Hall shouldn't see the floor unless it's junk time. I don't know why CM isn't playing Miller and I wish he'd address it.

Who knows. If Miller was good enough, then he would be playing at this point.

Miller is plenty good to be getting minutes on this team. He averaged more than Hall as a freshman at Pitt in the big east.
Something else is going on.

Hall had 2 pts and 2 TO's in 28 minutes. That's ridiculous.

Maybe he dogs it in practice? Maybe he doesn't get the offense?

Who knows. We aren't there.

I love Yemi as a story and believe he has great potential, but I can't agree with this statement. Yemi looked totally lost tonight; he's not ready to start at all. It's not entirely his fault, because he hasn't played the game long enough and is being forced to play when he really needed a redshirt. He had that one good game recently, but all in all he has looked lost and to be a minimal contributor on the season. (By the way, even he knows this. See some of his post games comments from previous games and watch his facial expressions during games. They scream "C'mon, what did you expect?")

I would agree with whoever said Dwight Miller needs some PT, but he's just not getting it for whatever reason.

Our biggest hope lies in Jarnell Stokes and the hopeful reemergence of Maymon.
