The Mizzou game scares the heck out of me

I know the mass NPC response will be "Georgia is first," but I'm looking ahead to the Mizzou game with dread. Just look at their game results from this year. Every single SEC loss has been by a touchdown or less basically. The thing that sticks out to me is they have sucked everyone they have played, Georgia included, into low scoring defensive struggles. And that's not even taking into account the fact that we embarrassed them last year and they'll be highly motivated to come in here and try to ruin our dream season. If we play our game and jump on them early we should win easily, but that game has trap game written all over it for a lot of different reasons.

Can't you just let us destroy one opponent at a time?

Mmmmm. Maybe you should be worried about them considering they have been in every single SEC game until the very end. That makes them a dangerous team. That danger factor should be considered doubled as well because they will want to ruin our season after last year. And this will be after a very emotional game for better or worse and that could affect our play.

I’m still basking in the smack down of Kentucky and looking to the showdown on Saturday. I’ll fret over the Tigers after the weekend.

Isnt that our last home game? If it is there is no way our fans let that become a close game. Especially if we win out to that point.

They are garbage, they lost to Auburn. We win by 21 at least.

You really, really, really need to stop watching football. If Mizzou "scares" you... you just don't need this kind of trauma in your life.

I think UGA is a concern. They're extremely talented and confident.

Mizzou is not a concern. They do not have an offense to speak of... and they're not going to be the team that discovers the magic elixir for stopping UT's O. Give them credit. They did some things really well vs UGA. Things I hope UT can emulate with success.

UGA still had 481 yds of O vs 294 for MU. UGA just couldn't stop shooting themselves in the foot.

I was there last year when UT's O finally started really getting legs in the MU game. It was a trampling... and UT is MUCH better now than they were then.

PS- were you also "scared" of UK?
You didn't address any of my points. The thing that makes Missouri dangerous is they have been in every single SEC game until the very end, including Georgia. You cannot ignore that. That is their identity as a team. They get you in chippy, physical low scoring contests where that one missed PAT could give your team an L and ruin your season. That is the reality. I'm not scared of Missouri. I just have a healthy respect for their ability to beat us if we don't come 100% dialed in and that will be a reasonable concern coming off the huge game this Saturday. I didn't say anything about Kentucky. Stay on topic please. This game will be the biggest test for this team and coaching staff in terms of how they respond to a huge game like Georgia regardless of the result. Either way there is likely going to be some kind of emotional hangover.

Again. Every SEC game they have lost has been decided by a score or less including Georgia. People keep ignoring these basic facts. 26-22. That was the final score of the Georgia- Missouri game. They are very capable of giving us a tough fight.

Here is the thing you are missing. They haven’t seen an offense like ours. Every SEC team they have played runs normal tempo. We are a completely different animal. If you can’t see that by now then I don’t know what to tell you. Plus this game is in Neyland. That Georgia game was at home.

Stay scared. Heupel and the Vols won't be. I'm sure you were scared before Pitt, Florida, LSU, Bama and Kentucky too.

When Georgia woke up from sleep walking they absolutely dominated Mizzou

Only SEC team with a real pulse was UGA. The other team's best record is 5-3 with no offensive firepower close to UT's. Rattler hasnt been the answer for USC, Vandy is Vandy (and they only won by 3), Auburn has been terrible. If UT plays to what theyre capable of doing, it's a blowout in the next 3 games after Saturday.

So? Bama had won every game prior to playing UT. UK was in every game and had won most of them before playing UT. Prior to UT, Bama had allowed no more than 26 points. UK had only allowed 24. LSU had also allowed 24 points only to FSU.

Mizzou is not a good football team. Outside of UGA, they've played the bottom of the SEC so far. You very literally HAVE NO POINT.

This game will be the biggest test for this team and coaching staff in terms of how they respond to a huge game like Georgia regardless of the result. Either way there is likely going to be some kind of emotional hangover.
Oh, wait. That's not UK any more? You know. They were sandwiched between Bama and UGA so obviously UT would be vulnerable.

Don't create drama for no reason.

UT could lose any game. Football is funny that way. Once in a while that 1% probability pans out. But unless UT self destructs in a way that cannot even be explained by "emotional hangover"... they'll monkey stomp MIzzou who doesn't have the talent on either side of the ball to challenge UT.

I think the Missou game last year was the turning point in Vol football. It's where we turned the corner in being a good team. We didn't pound SEC teams under Jones, Dooley or Cornbread. As I watched us score and score and score, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. It didn't. Proof that a new era is here. We're legitimately good

Missou is at Neyland this year. I'm not the least bit worried about that one

Maybe you should disconnect your TV, turn off your phone, quit your job, stockpile food & water, and retreat to your basement til the season is over.
Geeeezle.

The transitive property cant be applied to football. If you are fixated on that look at what KSU did to them. They have been in close with mostly garbage teams.

I would look more at match ups honestly. They dont scare me at any posistion. They controlled UGA by controlling the ground. Good luck with that against us. Better teams have tried. Their offense looks similar to Kentucky,a few more wrinkles, but outside that one WR they dont really use they don't have a weapon at Kentucky's level.

We have the team to take advantage of a few mistakes. We have a scheme to create those mistakes. There is no way in hades I am losing sleep over them.
