The Month of May

JPM was driving the wheels off. No way he was going to be denied and Will Power didn't have the will (no pun) to do what it takes to pass him.

Once again disappointed with ABC coverage - they continually missed passes cutting away to some meaningless part of the track. To top it off, they never showed a replay of the crazy pit out with Montoya and 2 other cars going at it in the warm up lane.

Another great year at the track. When we first got there is started raining a little bit but thankfully it didn't last long. Turned out to be pretty nice weather for the race.

I was glad to see JPM win it. I was really pulling for him to beat Will Power. I hated to see TK and Carpenter wreck out. Can't wait until next year. The 100th running should be awesome.

I thought JPM made a mistake taking the lead with 4 to go. Didn't think he would hold it.

I saw an interview with Power after the race and he said they set his car up to lead and that when he got behind someone the front of the car would wash out. I'm not sure if JPM knew that or not but it worked out for him in the end.

What a weekend. Awesome race first and foremost. The last 3 years have been great. It's safe to say that JPM is now the greatest driver of his era. Not sure who else is close.

There's nothing like sleeping inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Nothing. I'd have to say riding bikes around the infield at 12 am the night before the 500 is one of the coolest things I've ever done there. The wife got her picture in next to the NDY 500 sign in the Pagoda Plaza before we were ran out of there. I'd say not many can boast that picture. Crossed a few other things off my Speedway bucket list too.

I watched the TV coverage last night. Scott and Eddie are annoying but I had no complaints with ABC otherwise.

Can't wait to do it again next year.

Let's not get carried away.

He is certainly the best wheelman of his generation. But he was only great at Indy car, very good in F1 and good in NASCAR.

Do those collective accomplishments make him the best driver? Tough to say.

He's certainly a great though.

Yeah he is a wheelman but that's not enough to call him the best driver of his era. I can't comment on his F1 days because I don't follow it closely but his Cup years was nothing to write home about outside of the road courses. If we're judging him based upon his IndyCar career I would put Franchitti, Dixon, and maybe even Hornish above him.

Watched the 500 for the first time in years and I continue to try and understand what the fascination with it is?

Give me stock car racing any day.

On the bright side its good that no jet dryers were needed!

I think if you went to the 500 one time you would see what the fascination is.

The first time I went was '05 and before that I wasn't really following Indy car that much. I followed it a little in the late 80's and early 90's but after the split between Indy and Cart I pretty much quit following until I went to the track. Seeing the track and hearing the cars in '05 I was hooked from then on.

The speed. The spectacle. The experience.
