No, it's a double standard. I was mainly venting about the scum at the end of the road that I see as I come home everyday..
Scum? Because they cheer for a different school? Wow. I live in Arkansas and I'm married to a former razorback cheerleader. Being a Vol fan, I guess according to you I should file for divorce.
i could never endorse the " stealing " of anything because of my upbringing was at the hands of a parent who was a religious zealot. BUT i also learned " judge not, lest ye be judged " so what ever you do to lash out or vent looks good from my house....
But i understand the zit that does not go away...i often search the second hand stores for bama, fl and ga jerseys and T shirts that i can pick up for a couple bucks...when their reduced to rags they get used to polish the chrome on my motorcycles and ultimately and happily thrown in the trash.
PS....have not slept much and way too early on sunday morning. Peace and go Vols !!
Also for the record OP, I agree. As a side note I'm sippin on Makers down here in Destin and I have seen at least 10 fellow UT fans in my 1.5 days here. We are a national brand!![]()
I lived in Georgia for some time so I have no problem with fans of out of state teams. It is the "flavor of the day" fans that I cannot stand. I do not know what it is about Chattanooga, but we are full of them.
A friend of mine, a huge TN fan, owned a construction company and would call them "anti-Tennessee" fans. He literally considered it a character flaw. He was fine with a real fan of another team, someone who lived there, went to school there, etc. But if they were a Georgia fan one year because of Herschal Walker then an Auburn fan the next year because of Bo Jackson, he would be quick to let them know there job was in jeopardy. However, the ones he would absolutely not put up with were the Alabama fans with stickers and shirts but no knowledge of the game or history, they just knew that TN fans hated Alabama, so that was going to be their team. Those people did not last long in his company.
I'm in Ft Walton.. Okaloosa island, same here, I've seen several ppl with UT hats & swimsuits. Not sipping on Makers tho, just cold beers![]()
Sounds like a boss you'd avoid. Your ability to do a job well shouldn't impact what team you support or half-heartedly support. Work and team allegiance or lack thereof should be mixed. Unless you got a loudmouth who mucks up the job atmosphere and impeding the business' goals of getting business and providing quality service. Discrimination in any form is discrimination. I ought to know, I watched a guy get fired because he didn't force his kid to wear a specific assistive device at the school the school he worked,. the kid kept telling him it hurt and the rawness of his skin where the device was placed proved it was doing damage. But the guy got fired for standing by his kid because he was breaching "policy" they said. Love your boss guy's Vol-ness but at a certain point it can be very petty.
When you see a Alabama sticker on a car with a Tennessee tag. It just makes a part of me die on the inside. Or the scum down the street that fly a Alabama flag when ten years ago they was "Tennessee fans".. I have only stolen that flag about a dozen times. It's like a zit that won't go away no matter how much you pop it..
Ps: I just got back from a wedding with a open bar.
He simply saw the fact that a person who was a fan of another team just to irritate others would have trouble working with others on job-sites. I am not sure where you read in my post where he demanded employees have their children wear TN clothing to school.
