I am not talking about how all they talk about is Alabama, from week 1-end of season. This is a free country and they can talk about whatever they would like.

I am talking about the commercials they love to air 10x a day.

Example:

ESPN Alabama Roll Tide Commercial - YouTube

I have seen this commercial 100+ times on ESPN.

Why is this a big deal? Because it influence young football players in recruitment.

This is the 3rd Alabama commercial ESPN has aired.

I believe ESPN can choose whatever ESPN wants to air for commercials on ESPN. If we were the best team in the country the last few years, ESPN would air a bunch of Tennessee commercials and you would love every second of it.

Deal.

Alabama is gonna have a top 5 class every year (as long as Saban is there) regardless of whether or not ESPN plays a Roll Tide commercial.

Yep, unless ESPN gives every program equal time... every program should bar them from campus. That clip is is supposed to be an ESPN commercial, but it is more a commercial for Bama than it is for ESPN.

Winning influences recruits a lot more than commercials. If you are in the big game 3 of the last 4 years, then you tend to recruit well.

When our program was peaking in the late 90's were we getting any love from ESPN? I can't really remember. All I know is if we start winning then we'll be relevant--Alabama is at the top and they should be getting media love...that's why being nationally relevant pays off.

So...."they can talk about whatever they would like", but this somehow does not include the commercials that they choose to run? I don't understand your logic - please explain. Thanks!

It is unfair that Alabama has been in three national championship games in four years, and that ESPN continues to highlight championship caliber teams.

I remember distinctly that Candace Parker and the Lady Vols were in a montage for ESPN after winning the national championship. If you win, you get featured. End of discussion. Think I liked seeing that 4 episode thing they did on Kentucky basketball? No, but they're that good, and that's what happens.

If you win, people want to see you on TV, so ESPN airs more of your games in primetime and promotes your program in order to drive ratings for those games. It's not a hard concept.

Why exactly should it involve the NCAA? ESPN isn't a news organization and fair time is not required. ESPN sells and promotes hot products. Bama football is the hot product in college football. Notre Dame is now a close second.

When the Vols return to prominence and 100K+ are packing Neyland again, ESPN will be lapping at the door.

Id be interested to know what OP suggests the NCAA should do about this situation.

I have to totally agree!!!

I know Rece Davis graduated from Alabama.

But he always says "R*ll T**e!" right before the end of the show.

I hate ESPN's love affair for Alabama.

I HATE ALABAMA!!!!!!

And Mark Schlabach and David Pollack graduated from UGA. And Jesse Palmer and Ed Aschoff graduated from Florida. Chris Low lives in Knoxville. Everybody has a connection to somewhere.

Yeah, I'm calling BS on that...in fairness, it probably felt like the truth when you typed it.

Pretty sure it was at the very end of the CFL episode where Rece stepped down as judge when Holtz and May were arguing Notre Dame/ Bama winner in court.

I believe that was the episode.
