Bama gets displayed because they win, a lot.
Thats fine I understand it.

But why the hell do I see USC get displayed all the time?

ESPN is owned by Disney alias Evil Mouse Holdings. Disney is HQ'd in Los Angeles and is about selling entertainment. They homer for USC because that's L.A. and to Evil Mouse, L.A. and New York are the only America. They push their other anointed brands the Lakers & Kobe, the Yankees, Duke basketball, LeBraaaaaawn, Tiger, the hopelessly irrelevant Cowboys, and Tebow.

In ESPN's perfect world USC would play the Ohio St./Michigan winner for the NC every year. They cannot ignore the SEC although god knows they wish they could.

Bama is a top earner. They cannot be ignored. Evil Mouse is gonna sell these products as long as they earn and beat everyone else over the head with them. The Tebow stock appears to be diminishing. JMO.

Pretty sure it was at the very end of the CFL episode where Rece stepped down as judge when Holtz and May were arguing Notre Dame/ Bama winner in court.

I believe that was the episode.

The "Final Verdict" segment of CFB Final isn't at the end...the helmet stickers close the show every week.

So you go from saying Reece Davis always says "Roll Tide" right before the end of the show, to saying you're "pretty sure" he said it once during a segment having nothing to do with the end of the show.

Yep...still calling BS.

USC was the pre-season #1 team, which brings a certain level of media attention.

When that pre-season #1 team loses 4-5 games, in many cases they wind up getting more media attention for underachieveing.

I remember ESPN airing a ton of USC commercials when Bush and CO were tearing it up. It's all about who the hottest team is.

It seems that people don't quite get it. When a specific team is doing well, if ESPN has a commercial done that highlights them (This is SportsCenter, etc) then they'll air those when they become relevant. It's the same with how you saw the Big 3 commercial from when the Celtics joined up over and over again when their games were on for the Eastern Championship series.

ESPN stays very relevant with their commercial airings. The moment the national championship teams are announced, they are obviously going to start airing the commercials they have that highlight those 2 teams. It's not because they love Alabama or Notre Dame, it's because you get perks when you play for all the marbles.
