The New Era Pinstripe Bowl: Indiana (6-6) vs. Duke (7-5) (3:30PM ABC).

Dumbest rule I didn't know about. IU got screwed.

Looks like the uprights need to be raised again.

Congrats to Duke. Another accolade for coach Cutcliffe. He's really one of the best coaches they've had. They're going to have to consider naming the field or the stadium after him once he leaves

No - ball appeared outside from end zone camera. Goal post camera was near center post, not directly underneath upright. Because of camera angle, neither view is conclusive.
If parallax is a factor, then the kick is no good - or at least, not good enough.

They may just do that. He has done great things there.

The last time the Blue Devils won a bowl game, Coach K was 13 and Duke hoops had been to the NCAA tournament twice.

IU got IU'd.

If their defense had even a pulse as to not give up to 80 yard touchdown, had they not thrown 2 interceptions inside Duke's 30, had their punter returner not fumbled the ball allowing another Duke touchdown, or had their quarterback not held on to the ball for about 12 to 15 seconds there on the last drive then it doesn't even come down to the field goal.

They got jibbed, but they IU'd themselves.

I don't see what you guys are talking about when you say that kick 'was clearly good' and Indiana got screwed. It was very close and the guys standing right underneath it would have a better angle than what you saw on replay.

The kick was obviously inside. But too high. What a stupid rule. It certainly wasn't outside of close to it.

That's a tough loss by Indiana. There offense came to play and their defense even actually showed up at times. Their defense and special teams were just to unathletic at the end for their offense to fully compensate for. That had to be a painful way to lose, even though most fans were seeing shades of the Michigan game.

Go look up "parallax" in your Funk & Wagnalls. Then study some more. Try to understand that the ball above the post is in a different focal plane than the post itself. Not to mention the possibility of optical distortion induced by the lens. Hence the rule, correctly applied.

Call was good. Kick wasn't.

Kick would've bounced off the upright if it was higher. Whatever, Duke probably deserved a win like that after the Miami fiasco.

Duke's looking at a bowl game again if not next year then over thDuke's looking at a bowl game again if not next year then over the next few years after.

It's a shame for Indiana. It's a great season by their standards just to make a bowl, especially after two years of coming so close. Bur despite what he's done that coach might still be lacking in job security. That defense won't get any better and is it loses their senior quarterback.

And it's still going to be a few years (or maybe even a few coaches) before they reach another another with their schedules:
