The Oakland Postgame Report

Moore has the worst ballhandling skills of any PG I have ever seen. However, he seems to have a nose for the basket. Maybe move him to SG?

A little drastic....he is a freshman backup mistakes will be made. Too overloaded at the 2 to make him move to 2. He will be decent just needs to get used to game speed. Brash decisions like those are more suited for the football forum.

I will say about Moore, Oakland figured out quick; he goes right. They'd try to really overplay him and he'd still go right, think hell be much improved next year though.

Jarnell went 7/8 from the field tonight and ft looked good at 5/7...that's 71% I'm ecstatic with that.

Here's the deal though...the guy is now shooting almost 60% from the field...HE HAS TO SHOOT MORE.

I understand tonight was fine we were up alot and he only played 24 minutes. However, against Georgetown Friday I'd like to see domination and for Jarnell to get 12-15 fg attempts and 10 ft attempts, I'd really like our chances.

Jarnell is averaging 15ppg, no reason honestly given what we've seen he shouldn't be close to 20ppg. He was there tonight and the previous game, and both games he made it look easy. Maybe I see too much there, but I am seeing an upcoming game where this guy erupts for like 35 points...I'm hoping it's Friday.

If Stokes scores 35 on Friday and we win I may just lose my mind and storm the court. By myself if I have to.

If I remember correctly, Maze use to go right or left all the time.

our last pg that handled well with his left was Dane Bradshaw when he had to play the position.

Not many of these kids know how to dribble well coming out of hs. They don't have to. Most don't work on it at all. Bigger men handle the ball better now than years ago, but the guards back in the day could handle the ball much better than the guards today. And I'm not talking about some new crossover. I'm talking about having the ball on your fingertips on either hand at all times like a string. Not on the palm and rolling up the wrist.

Solid game all around.

If UT can get that kind of play out of Hall when Maymon returns we will be solid inside even when we rotate.

I totally agree. I use to play point guard back in the days. My job was to dribble to break the press, make good passes to break it and distribute to our best shooters.
