Valiant effort by the LV. Caldwell is clearly the right coach and going to be very successful, but that defense on the final possession and the play she drew up with 1 second left were both a bit suspect. Still, nice effort.

Yeah, LSU didn’t start their drive to the basket till about 5 seconds left. Surprised they didn’t foul right as she attacked.

Maybe. She didn’t catch it cleanly and she was double teamed and had to fade a bit on her shot. It wasn’t terrible, but I’m surprised with how well they shoot the 3 they didn’t set something up to get a catch and shoot on the perimeter.

Yeah, I don’t think it was necessarily a bad play. Just not what I expected. I’m also not so sure the clock didn’t start a bit late. I didn’t think she got her shot off by the time she came down with it and then went back up, which is another reason why I thought they might elect for a perimeter shot.

Ha, fair. I didn’t rewatch it either but in real time it sure looked like the play took longer to develop than 0.9 seconds. Think we got a bit of a friendly home clock operator assist JMO.
