I was hoping we would get the final four, Barnes retires and we land McCollum, but nope my dreams never work out.

Kudos to Iowa, they got a star. Hopefully they do him justice and give him some NIL to work with.

Why would your dream include "Barnes retires", especially after a Final 4? Why would anyone want him to go if he's still doing it at this level in this era. If we make a Final 4, I'd like to go ahead and stay with what's working until it stops working, especially if NCAA passes the 5 year rule.

If it gets passed in April, I think it would but I’m not positive. He can go out with back to back final 4’s, but the highest note would be winning the thing, so if he makes it and doesn’t win it, I want him to give it another shot.

This feels like a hire made circa 2016. It’s a perfectly okay hire, but I don’t think Miller is in his prime and if Texas is looking to compete in the stacked SEC, I’m not sure how much this helps that.

Ben McCollom, Devries, Miller all were lining up jobs before their season was over. It’s not just Wade, but Wade just talked about it. Whether his approach was right or wrong, I can’t say, but he is right about the hypocrisy and selective outrage among coaches.

Not sure what you guys think about Sean Miller, but I feel like that is a very mid hire.

Maybe 10 years ago that was a splash hire, but I'm not sure how much better he is than Terry honestly, slightly I guess.

Honestly, I'm not really that familiar with McCollum, I rather a veteran coach that has more experience at p5 schools.

That said, I hope Barnes coaches another 10 years. If Barnes were to retire, technically we could still go after McCollum, not that I'm interested in it, but Tennessee is a better program than Iowa. Think that happened with Chris Beard at UNLV, right?

I don’t actually want him to retire. I’m just saying if I had to choose a year, it would be this year because I personally think we reach the final 4 and want him to end it on a high note.

Of course I want Barnes around another 5+ years.

And I’m not sure completely sure, but you could be right.
