The Official #1 Tennessee @ South Carolina Series Thread (Fri. 3/28 7PM EDT SECNET+) (Sat. 3/29 4PM EDT SECNET+) (Sun. 3/30 12PM EDT SEC Network+)

A few quick thoughts on current state of the BaseVols:

1) Ariel Antigua is a defensive run saver and is Ozzie Smith with a stronger arm. He’s just so elite defensively—-who is better at SS in college baseball? If he hits .260, it’s icing on the cake and I think he will hit much better than that.
2) Bargo is showing his veteran experience and his tremendous bat. Hopefully more Vol fans will appreciate him as he’s so versatile and can rake. Can you imagine bringing 4 different gloves to every practice and game?
3) Chapman is having an All American season both at the plate and in the field.
4) Fischer has quickly become solid at 1B. Really appreciate his willingness to learn a new position. His bat has been as solid as expected.
5) Ensley is the Captain and is so clutch. Thank goodness he decided to return to UT.
6) Snead is invaluable as a high leverage relief pitcher who battles even when he doesn’t have his usual elite stuff.

PS. Peebles HR was clutch. I bet that gets him going at the plate. Coach always says he’s the hardest worker on the team.

How about the coaches having faith in Snead and allowing him to get out of a jam?
Got to give them credit.

Scenes from Saturday in Columbia. I almost had to commit violence against a nega-Vol who was trashing Hunter for that drop and bobble but who was so “knowledgeable” that before he game he was talking about Ensley playing right field and didn’t know how to pronounce Peebles. Do not sit near me with that mess, sir. I managed to use my words to resolve the situation, but fisticuffs were not out of the question.

You are a hero.
Great pics.

Solid win today. It’s crazy to watch a team that’s 1-6 (1-7 now) in the conference take the #1 team in the nation to the 9th before hitting a 2 run jack that eventually wins it. It just shows how deep this conference is. Last night, LSU barely beats a 1-6 Miss St team 2-1. I mean, when Florida, A&M, SC, and Miss St are all either 1-7 or 1-8 in conference play (who honestly saw that coming?!), you know this is going to be one hell of a season!

How have your bunch fared this weekend thus far? I’m not quite with it yet, if ya know what I mean.

They have pushed us hard, harder than I thought. SEC road is hard.
