I hear you but wasn’t it the NEXT batter that hit the line drive? The hitter who stepped out was ultimately struck out if I remember correctly. This! I posted about this exact rule several days back as part of a possible 2 strike pitch scenario. Today's situation wasn't exactly the same because the batter reentered the box before the pitch; however, the batter's box violation is still in play. Strike 3 should have been called, Dollander's pitch that was called a ball was irrelevant, and the next pitch that was lined back at him should never have happened.
No, it was the same batter on the next pitch. The pitch that occurred while he was stepping back in was called a ball.I hear you but wasn’t it the NEXT batter that hit the line drive? The hitter who stepped out was ultimately struck out if I remember correctly.
And taking it further, where's he from and has he had other issues with other SEC programs or just us and our staff? The way he acted makes me think he had an axe to grind.
1. Predicting Will Wade getting fired is up there with predicting the Pope is Catholic. That was originally posted by an Arkansas fan. Arkansas fans are spreading a bunch of crap including TV will be out the rest of the year. It’s all fake news.

I think Tidwell would be moved to Sunday , don't know how far he can go yet and you could use all you have left in the bullpen on Sunday. Just me thinking.I think it could depend on how Beam continues to pitch as well as how Burns does in his next outting or two. Burns has struggled a little bit and Beam has continued doing what he does. Beam, Burns and Tidwell could be a good rotation. We have good arms... Not sure it matters how they rotate, just hate losing Dollander for any length of time.
I think CTV in his early week interview said Halvorson should be available. I didn’t take it as a lock. It could’ve been gamesmanship. That is a little bit of a cryptic statement, but I have been speculating something is going on. We were told that Halvorson was going to be active this week and then when gameday gets here, he wasn't on the list. Late last night I saw Ben McKee make an offhand remark to someone saying Halvorson would be a big help now that "you won't be seeing him anytime soon". Rains it pours. Can't get over the bad luck for poor Dollander. Of all places for that ball to hit him... even if it's not broken don't see any way in the world he comes back quickly. It looked awful live.
Everyone is acting like Tidwell can just come in and pitch starters innings again.Lots of worries about injuries to our pitchers, but all of it is speculation at this point. We have Halvorsen coming back, Tidwell can slide in for Dollander and Sewell won’t be out for long if at all. It’s the regular season and this stuff happens. We just need everyone healthy in a couple months
Essentially, he’s a failed pro umpire. Did minor leagues but got into college.
He was behind the plate last year in our game against Texas in the CWS. I believe it was the 3rd base ump who threw out Ross Kivett, and there had been a prior history with that umpire and Kivett going back to his Big 12 days. So, my guess is his opinion of us started there. He was awful behind the plate on Friday, and I’m sure he heard from our staff about it. He was looking for a fight, and he got it. I would not be surprised if we never see him again do our games- the route of Al Matthews in football and Anthony Jordan in basketball.
