So through high school most pitchers are the most athletic players on the field. Pitch, hit, typically studs.

The differences between the NL and AL is what made baseball the greatest sport. Football was more interesting when you had the contrast of the AFL and NFL.

And the managing of a game when the pitcher hits is way more interesting.
