The Official #1 Tennessee vs Bellarmine Tuesday Game Thread (6:30PM EST) (SEC NETWORK+)

I assume you mean the extra innings rule. Yes, that is objectively stupid. It’s a dumb rule and Rob Manfred hates baseball which is why it’s happening.

But, I will die on the hill that I don’t want to watch Bartolo Colon attempt to hit a baseball on the off chance he might accidentally hit a home run like he did that one time.
Yeah. I had to go back and edit that one.

So can someone w college baseball knowledge advise what it will take for the Vols to play @ home for Regionals and Super Regionals?
If I recall correctly, It’s a bid process where you have to meet certain requirements for size of stadium, and then goes to top seeds. There are 16 host sites for Regionals. Typically if you win 40+ games, you are in a great position to host a regional.

😂 If pitchers could hit, the DH would never have been conceived.

I’m not totally opposed to the designated FT shooter idea. What basketball should do is eliminate the fouling out rule. Especially since basketball officiating is so arbitrary. One bad call can mean a star player has to sit an extended period of time due to the fear of fouling out. In no other sport is s player disqualified from the game for too many common fouls. It’s nonsensical.
A pitcher the next day after two teams got in a scuffle can get tossed for losing a fastball that runs in. It happens all throughout sports.

Adopt your beloved soccer rule. Two yellow cards and you are out.

Edit- just found the answer to my question. I assume LNS qualifies for the “facility” part of the equation.

During team selection, sixteen teams are given "national seeds". The top eight of these teams automatically host a super regional if they advance past the regional round, assuming that they have the facilities to do so.
