Yep, LNS def qualifies. Hosted Regional and Super Regional last year. Old Dominion didn’t have the facilities to host but qualified as a top 16 seed.Edit- just found the answer to my question. I assume LNS qualifies for the “facility” part of the equation.
During team selection, sixteen teams are given "national seeds". The top eight of these teams automatically host a super regional if they advance past the regional round, assuming that they have the facilities to do so.
I was an instructor at Jim Rice baseball camp. He was kind of a quiet stay to himself guy but was great to help the kids. That guy could really knock the piss out of a golf ball.Jim Rice you say? Wanna see a pic of the signed, autographed, authenticated bat he gave me as a 9yr old in '79....besides Grandaddy's Pool Stick its my most loved possession!
He made it to the dream though... before I tore my hamstring to oblivion I would have killed someone to be on the expos or the A's.When I was a kid the Sox drafted someone from our neighborhood. He was a pitcher and one of the best hitters in our city. After a year he was traded to the lowly Indians. Should have been in the NL.
I think every defensive foul should award the offensive player two foul shots, and if it is a shooting foul, the offensive team gets the ball back. Another idea would be to award two points for defensive fouls instead of two shots. This would cut down on fouls and shorten the game by 20 minutes. If pitchers could hit, the DH would never have been conceived.
I’m not totally opposed to the designated FT shooter idea. What basketball should do is eliminate the fouling out rule. Especially since basketball officiating is so arbitrary. One bad call can mean a star player has to sit an extended period of time due to the fear of fouling out. In no other sport is s player disqualified from the game for too many common fouls. It’s nonsensical.
A pitcher the next day after two teams got in a scuffle can get tossed for losing a fastball that runs in. It happens all throughout sports.
@txbo would take free long dongs in baseball..That’s not a common foul situation. That’s more comparable to a technical.
It’s like disqualifying a DB for committing too many PIs. And there’s really no reason for the rule. I get that it’s supposed to dissuade fouling, but we already have that deterrent…free throws.
