And one of our kids is a student manager for the WVU team. This week he was asked to travel with the team and help with today’s game at the Pirates stadium, and he’s going on the road for their series against Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Kansas. He’s happy, we’re happy for him.Former Owl picked up the win, future Owl contributed on the field

I agree. Always get a Primanti Brothers sandwich there- they are great (and job security for a cardiologist). Throw in an Iron City beer and the view across the river for a great day. That’s a gorgeous park.

Knoxvillian and former Pirates backstop Michael McKenry is part of the TV broadcast team for the Pirates (at least I think he still is- I haven't watched any Pirates baseball this season).
FWIW, in the wide open spaces between PNC Park and Heinz Field, you'll find the home plate location of Exposition Park (which they claim is the site of the first modern World Series in 1903) as well as the markings of where Franco Harris made the Immaculate Reception. Also, part of the outfield wall of Forbes Field is on the Pitt campus. The Forbes Field home plate location is in a building's hallway, but some claim the true spot should be inside a nearby men's restroom.
