The Official #1 Tennessee vs GA Tech Regional Game Thread Sunday June 5th (7PM EST ESPNU)

Campbell Head Coach Justin Haire: On Campbell’s pitching availability for the rest of the weekend… “I feel good about it, I think the biggest thing is that all hands will be on deck tomorrow against Georgia Tech. Ty (Cummings) and (Ryan) Chasse should be fine to come back. Chasse probably for a shorter stint, but Ty Cummings will have a chance to come back out of the bullpen tomorrow. We have some other bullets in the chamber and we’re going to go all hands on deck. I feel good about the stuff that we have and if we can make sure that we maximize that, I think we’ll have a chance to do some good things.”

On Tennessee’s pitching plan for Sunday… “It's not ideal to not have a starter log at least five innings or whatever the magic number is— for us, it's been four this year. But, with what Kirby did, now you feel better about what's (available). You know, (Chase) Burns, he's going to be a guy that's going to look and say, ‘I’ve got more than 25 pitches to contribute to this thing this weekend.’ And that may happen. But I don't know if he’d be able to bounce back tomorrow. That's my one initial thought. But I haven't discussed (all that with our staff) yet.

That dude is absolutely going to throw them until their arms fall off.

Are we home or visitor tonight? Don't be messing with us Willis. :p:cool::p

We look terrible at the plate. Swinging at junk. We don’t look interested. We don’t have it today. If we lose we are in trouble. Oh well, get ready to try and win it tomorrow.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way.

Go Vols!
Don’t forget: who are these announcers? They’re clearly homers for the other team!

FWIW the NCAA college baseball scores | NCAA.com has us as home.

The damn H/V rules are crazy. Vols have been H/V. Campbell has been V/H and GT has been H/V but the Humps are H in GT game today because they were V in their first game with GT. If GT wins they would have been H/V/V, if Humps win then it's V/H/H. Face GT we're V, face Humps we're H. It is a "who's on first?" thing.

The idea that your #1 seed may end up being the V twice on their own damn field is frankly beyond stupid.

Thats what I thought I remembered. But the SEC tournament confused me. If Florida won they won the sec tournament right?

The SEC tournament is double elimination until the semi finals. The semis and finals are always single elimination.

The advantage for top four seeds? They play one less game than the other seeds.

"it is what it is" and welcome to reality. If you want to change it, and I would love to see a lot of changes, you have to participate in off-season political wrangling and get down and dirty with some good folks and some folks that just seek power, popularity, control, and money. I love the proposed changes to LNS in 2023. We are on the right track. We just have to remember sometimes you have to beat the refs, umps, politics, and media mouthpieces like ESPN. I appreciate SECN/ESPN for allowing me to pay a modest fee to watch the games. I do not like their opinions and commentary. Wish the universities would form their own network and make the money direct and involve the students without the national media circus. So, my Sunday morning rant. Time for praising my God, participating in services and embracing a wonderful Church family. See y'all this afternoon. Go Big Orange. Thank you VN and Tennessee base-ballers!

Nice post. I religiously watched ESPN in the 80’s and 90’s. Im not sure what happened but I can’t recall the last time I watched sports center. Its been easily over 10 yrs.

It should be a great Sunday: Church later in the AM, lunch and then the fam to the theater to see Top Gun Maverick. I might try to sneak in a nap before the Vols play.

Exactly, I want a very boring game with the win determined early. I have faith in this team, but a winner take all game on Monday would make me nervous. With that being said, I can't see the winner of GT/Campbell beating us

Is this game going to be on SECN too? I bought YouTube TV just so I can watch. Definitely glad I did for last night's game. I'm HOPING that we take care of business in Game 1 on a really tired Campbell/GT team. I'd much rather see Georgia Tech, but I honestly don't know if either team has the pitching to compete with us.
Even if it’s on SECN+, you can use your YTTV account as your provider and log in to the ESPN app and watch it there. That’s what I have to do the majority of the season. Only when games are on ESPN+ that I can’t watch the game.
