The Official #1 Tennessee vs Notre Dame Super Regional Games Thread (Fri 6/10 6PM EST ESPN 2) ( Sat. 6/11 2PM EST ESPN ) (Sun. 6/12 1PM EST ESPN)

Why are our starting pitchers so bad the past couple weekends?

Plenty of tape out on them. I’d imagine it‘s a mix of good coaching and patient at bats. These are all quality opponents you face in the post season. The pressure gets ratcheted up a bit and once you rattle a pitcher it’s hard for him to overcome it. Everyone has a bad game now and then. You just hope and pray it doesn’t come when the season is on the line.

When that ref watches that placement, if he had any integrity what so ever he'd apologize, it was that bad.

Over and over they’ve made it a point to say he’s clearly moving his glove inside and it’s painfully obvious but hey let’s give the Umps a free pass

BS, you give a warning. These umps were wait to show their ass.
I would tend to agree but it seems he dropped it a few times.

Plus, in general arguing balls and strikes with that language will get you an ejection on most every level.

Pathetic umpire though. But we’ve had a target on our backs for a while.

I've never known an F-bomb to not be an automatic ejection, and every player knows it. That's why Drew dropping it was so dumb on his part.
If you have to say it, do it under your breath and with your back to the ump. You definitely can’t turn around, walk two steps towards him, and yell it to his face.

It’ll be a shame if that ends up being his final act as a Vol, but he has no one other than himself to blame if it is. Bad calls happen to everyone.

This team wins with passion. Unfortunately, it got the best of DG and FA. It was an ameteur way of handling a bad third strike, and it could cost us a trip to Omaha. This certainly wasn’t how I saw game 1 shaking out.
It was strike one. It was immature, it wasn't helping the team, it was selfish. He's sitting and hopefully learned a lesson.
