The Official #1 Tennessee vs UGA Last Home Series Thread (Thurs. 7PM EST ESPNU) (Fri. 5:30PM EST SEC Network) (Sat. 1PM EST SEC Network+)

You're hung up on the PROFESSIONAL angle of this discussion when the crux is being "overworked" i.e. PITCH COUNTS. Clemens pitched at (the other) UT under Cliff Gustafson, who won a lot because he wasn't shy about keeping his pitchers on the mound...and riding them! And once Clemens entered the majors, he piled up the COMPLETE GAMES. It was the early 80's and you either iron manned it or you got hurt. Nolan Ryan had notorious control issues and was primarily a reliever in his first three (full) seasons...that might've contributed to his low innings output. And Maddux was an exception on many outstanding merits but his workload was nothing extraordinary and neither was Avery's. No tragic mishandling shortened his career...it was baseball. Sandy Koufax had a permanent bow to his pitching arm due to overwork and still ended his career early of his own volition. Avery got hurt throwing a baseball because the body isn't designed to do so and the odds went against him...not because he did it way too many times.

He sees you as the coffee table with a bunch of stained rings on it from no coasters. We all view you as the nice comfy couch though!
That couch that was in your friends garage. It had every stain imaginable on it but it was the go to for watching sports and drinking beer with your boys!
We love you @mad4vols !
Tennessee baseball would not be the same without you bud!
