I get the disappointment but TN fans really need to back off the “ fire them !!” mentality every time we don’t win a 🏆 We do it in every sport and it really is unfair to the programs and the student athletes.

I know it's a dead horse that has been beaten to death, but the depth of this team has me excited for the post season. A ton of really good teams have been in the position TN is in and failed to deliver because they faded late. I dont see that happening with this team even if our main horses fail our secondary horses are still really good and we even kind of have a third tier of horses. I mean how many teams gave 3 guys for Fri, 3 for Sat and 3 for Sunday that'd pretty unheard of but this team had it. We also have 5 starters that we could comfortably to go with at any point. I say all that to say this, buckle up it's about to be one hell of a ride

You're making the point I was making in a post on another thread: We destroyed MSU with 41 runs in 3 games without our 3 hitter contributing his usual and with Colton contributing almost nothing. The depth of the regular lineup and DH's means that can happen. If Gilbert or Jorel start to slump, Colton and Beck will be back in the saddle. If EVERYONE is hitting, no one stands a chance against us. And just think - that happens even without Jared Dickey. Point is: We are loaded with offense from every position. Only thing that can beat us is a career-best pitching job by someone throwing out of their minds against us.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s so over the top ridiculous. 👍🤣🦐

Is this Colton guy from The Bachelor? If so, no wonder he’s struggling!!👍🍊🍊😀😊. Our SS, Cortland, is streaky and will get back in his groove in Hoover. His glove is Hoover’esqe Too. 👍

PS. On a serious note, solid post and agree that UT’s depth is staggeringly exceptional!

Everyone mentions some of the great teams that failed to win the College World Series or fail to even make it out of their regional or super regional.

What are some of the underdog teams in the past that surprised everyone by winning it all that nobody expected?

2016 Coastal Carolina took out #1 Florida (52-16), #5 TCU x2 (49-18)
2017 Oregon State was 54-4 before getting taken out by LSU in the CWS. (they made it back the next year and won it all) That was one of the best teams in recent memory.

2008 Cinderella Fresno State (42-29) rolled through the CWS defeating Georgia to earn their first baseball title in school history.

Ranking The Top 25 Underdog Regional Upsets in the 64-Team NCAA Baseball Tournament Era

I wanted to say 2016 Coastal Carolina but they were a 2 seed in their regional whenever they won. 2008 Fresno St was a 4 seed in their regional whenever they won the CWS. As far as I am aware they are the lowest seeded team to win the whole thing in the modern era.

I’m telling you that’s why it’s always been hard for me to be a Vol fan. A coach can be the best in the world today and lose one game tomorrow and there are those, maybe not everyone, that wants to fire them. I lived around too many of them in Johnson city for 14 years

That’s kind of the problem with having a fanatic fan base. It comes with volatility. Thankfully Kirby is a stud so you don’t have to see negative comments about his play.

I’m just as upset that the Lady Vols lost as the next guy, but I’ve never understood that firing mentality thing. Dooley, Donnie Tyndall, it was pretty obvious. Somebody like Rick Barnes...get outta here!
Karen has put in her time and has earned a chance to bounce back imo.
Another thing that grates on me is singling out players. You win as a team and you lose as a team!
I am in no position to dog a kid, while sitting on my couch, drinking beer.🤷‍♂️
GBO!!

Who’s going to Hoover? My family can’t make it until Sat but I’m planning on going on Wed if I can convince my buddy to take off work and go. For folks that have been, any tips or must do’s?
