The Official #1 Tennessee vs Vandy SEC Tourney Game Thread (Thursday 7PM EST SEC NETWORK)

I am really mad Trey got snubbed for Player of the Year. How does that happen ??
Same here. I’m sorry but if you don’t give POY to someone on a team that’s on a historic run and instead give it to two players in which their teams finished 4th and 5th in the conference, there’s something wrong with the voting process. And the fact that Beck and Ortega didn’t even make 2nd Team All-SEC is absurd. Bunch of clowns voting on these things in all sports, year in and year out.

I hear you but they only look at SEC stats and Crews‘ metrics were outstanding.

Planned on being there Wednesday and coming back down for every game we play but with this weather I’m not so sure now. I’m anxious to see what unfolds from a schedule perspective if this weather prediction holds up. Hoover week seems to go one of two ways every year, either the hottest week on earth or incessant rain delays. I’m torn because I want to see baseball in my personal life, but professionally I work in agriculture and live in north AL and we’re starved for rain right now so it’s much appreciated.
I hear you. Regarding baseball, the cooler weather is welcomed but not the accompanying thunderstorms. PS. Any tips for a daughter who is interested in majoring in Agriculture Engineering?

Stats shouldn’t be the only thing they look at. I guess going 22-5 and winning your division by 10 games doesn’t matter.
It’s an individual award so I get why they base it on SEC stats. Crews had a heck of a year. Team trophies are much more important anyway and the SEC Reg season champions has a nice ring to it.

I’m just glad someone decided to motivate Beck and Lipscomb, heading into the postseason!😎
Looks like Blade will get the start Wednesday.
GBO!!

Agreed. Love anything that could be perceived as a slight or disrespect. I’ll take any fuel for any extra motivation (not that they need any).

you Sir, have way too much common sense for this board!!!!

This board for sure but not this forum. This forum does a good job of policing the trolls and NVs. That’s one of the many things I like about it (along with the feeling I have that I’m back in my dorm room drinking and watching the game with a bunch of my friends).

Ortega not making second team is bs. Becks end of the year mini slump must have cost him, I guess.
Here are the main stats people look at comparing two players that play the same position. One player made 2nd Team All-SEC and one player was not selected to an All-SEC team.

Player A:
.298 BA
.433 OBP
.595 SLG
1.029 OPS
34 Runs
50 Hits
7 2B
2 3B
13 HR
52 RBI

Player B:
.323 BA
.392 OBP
.672 SLG
1.064 OPS
48 Runs

63 Hits
15 2B
4 3B

15 HR
51 RBI

I believe UT’s program is pretty solid, it was called Bio-Systems Engineering when I was in school. I didn’t take any classes in that department though so can’t speak on it too much. Just based on overall agricultural studies across the board, MS State is probably the best ag school in the southeast and I would venture to say Auburn is pretty strong in that arena specifically, given their strong engineering presence. Some in my part of the world, believe Auburn is starting to slip in it’s ag school. Our Director of Agronomy is an Auburn alum and refused to allow his kid to go to Auburn to study Ag and talked him into to going to MS State.
