Best interview of any coach on campus. That’s not a shot at the other coaches as CTV may be one of the top interviews in the country. He doesn’t give you the typical boring “coach speak” and actually answers the questions with humor and candor.

Meanwhile, Vanderbilt midweek game against Lipscomb at First Horizon Park where the Nashville Sounds play in Nashville, reported attendance was 2344 (holds 10,000) but from what people were saying, hardly anyone was there.

Yes, we’re C14, in front of the tv camera platform, near the aisle and just under the press box. Come by, introduce yourself, and grab a seat if you want. It’s 4 baseball loving guys (sometimes a wife may be present or a college age son). One guy’s dog is named Yadi, and his oldest’s middle name is McGwire. Another guy is a Royal’s fan. We have fun, and we’re not the obnoxious and yelling type. We don’t say anything a young kid shouldn’t hear. We talk about college baseball a whole bunch and shoot the bull. Next Tuesday I’ll be late to the game, and I’m coming from the office, so I’ll be wearing a dress shirt. Come by and say hey.

From where you were sitting could you see the scouts with radar guns, heard there were like 10 of them behind home plate.

Will do—-look forward to meeting you. Very neat— I’m in Aruba next week but will say hi next time I’m back at LNS. It’s my favorite venue in sports.

It's also easy to see why players love him as well. I wish I had a coach that was that cool.
