What a waste of an offensive performance from this team. We are actually shooting the ball really well but no one on this team is interested in playing defense.

Or doing the little things like ball control, boxing out, smart passing, effort in rebounds, etc.

This is my biggest issue. Barnes has too many times in my opinion where the team doesn’t show up and do the fundamental pieces correctly. We will never be successful as long as we are this slow and unathletic.

I don’t want to hear any excuses from anyone on what happened on the defensive side tonight. They just came out and surrendered from the tip.

Just hope there isn’t other issues boiling under the surface that is contributing to this.

Yep until Gainey shows he can more consistent offensively because his defense is not good. At least Mashack plays defense.

Blaming this one on the coaching staff… don’t know why we’re overhelping on UNC driving to the basket. That’s what’s leading to the wide open 3s. Need to have them beat us with 1 on 1 defense.

I don’t disagree and you make good points. But UNC hasn’t done anything spectacular in their game, we’ve just not played ANY defense against them. In fact, we’ve left their guys open all night and let them own the paint from the tip without any fight.

Haven’t done anything spectacular? They literally can’t miss! This is one of the more impressive offensive performances I’ve seen, even considering our bad defense. That’s why it’s out of hand - the combo of sh*t defense and then having the hottest of hot hands.
