Think what this team could actually do if they do correct a few things. This could be a exciting year.
I haven’t lost an ounce of hope because of today. But I am starting to watch other SEC teams and the margin for error is really slim. All the deficiencies you point out must be corrected, but some of it is just talent.
I was thinking the same thing yesterday and Steenstra is definitely the “answer” to try for Luc. Evan seems a little harder simply because everyone behind him is batting worse. BUT, they also have much more limited AB’s, so average is (could be) deceiving. I’d like to see what Scott or Booker could do with more AB’s. Evan has had 16 out of 20 games played to get it going and he just can’t. Worse yet is, his outs are K’s which lead to no movement on the base path and are momentum killers. He has twice as many strikeouts as he does hits, I’m pretty sure that’s not a good stat ratio lol. Seniority and LF defense aren’t enough to compensate for the guaranteed outs he’s currently offering up. The strikeout call in the 7th/8th yesterday was horrendous and I laughed at his reaction to the ump but that, combined with nearly charging the mound vs. ETSU during the review, tells me his head isn’t right. His struggles are wearing on him.I was thinking about who could potentially hit for Russell or Lipscius, and looking through the stats, there really are not many options. Steenstra is really the only guy that has numbers worthy of being in the line-up. I think we are just going to have to hope those two can get it going.
