It's a beautiful day to hate Vanderbilt !!!
I know I say this 'It's a beautiful day to hate' line before every game, but I really, really, really F'ing mean it about Vanderbilt!
I've got family in Nashville that are Vandy alumni, and I visit every Christmas. Vandy winning ruins Christmas.
In high school, a former Vandy running back taught my world history class. He was a woke (before 'woke' was a thing) idiot. Anybody that tries to tell you Vandy used to hold their athletes to a higher academic standard than the rest of the SEC is a liar. Seriously, the guy was that stupid.
I knew shortly after creating my Volnation account that selecting an Avatar was serious business, not to be taken lightly. It took a couple years to find one. Thanks to the venerable actions of Sir Jauan Jennings stomping on a Vandy head, I found one a few years ago.
No team storming the field this year has come close to matching the spectacularly awesome thematic display we presented after AL. The fireworks, the lighting, the sea of orange on the field....It was great, and appropriate.
Since then, we have watched a bunch of buffoon fan bases devalue the grandiose symbolic impetus behind storming the field.
Those same buffoon fan bases now revel in our misfortune after USCe, and revile our fan base.
As a fan base we should embrace the hate and play the antagonist to reclaim our swagger. After crushing Vandy, I hope we storm Vandy's field as a middle finger to every other fan base in CFB, and that the SEC fines Vandy because we stormed their field.
