The Official #11 Tennessee vs. Montana Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, SEC Network+

We seem to think this every preseason but come conference play it’s mainly a 7-8 man rotation with one or two other guys getting under 5 minutes

Phillips, Carr, and Estrella are all capable at 7-9. Maybe even Boswell since ZZ needs a backup. But they’ll all need to not regress as the level of competition ramps up to share significant court time with the first 6. Underclassmen are going to have a hard time taking minutes from the seniors in CRB’s system.

Phillips and Estrella have shown a lot of growth for sure. I was wary of that preseason and am happy the staff is going par for the course on player development. Hopefully we see something from Carr also.

Okpara serves a role we’ve been missing. Nothing against Aidoo or Alexander. He’s just stronger.
The combination of Okpara and Milicic gives us a dynamic we haven't had. I think the 2 of them on the floor together creates opportunities for the guards. Hopefully Dubar can check in soon and add something.

I think that Alexander and Aidoo want to be perimeter scorers like Anthony Davis. I like having Felix comfortable with his role of mixing it up in the paint. An added bonus, a lot of times those types of players throw up bricks from the free throw line. Felix has been a very good free throw shooter so far.

Don't underestimate Austin Peay. They beat a Big East team in Butler and just beat the Mocs of Chattanooga. Vols should win but don't overlook the Govs. They could be good this year. Austin Peay beat Cuonzo Martin's Vols (I think) a few years ago...and they have upset potential.
It was, but in 2011
