The Official #11 Tennessee vs. THE Austin Peay Game Thread, 3:00 PM ET, SEC Network+

One thing that seems notable this year is how many fewer midrange shots. Without JJJ, Aidoo, and DK there's not a ton of guys that can hit them for better and for worse.

We'll learn a lot more next week but you almost think this team could be as good as last year's.
We'll learn a lot more THIS WEEK in that Baha Mar Championship when we play Virginia and then either St. John's or Baylor on consecutive days.
Next week, we only play UT-Martin.

The fear is that if it doesn’t heal, it’s major surgery. Him not playing today was a precaution until he can pass a set of tests with no pain. For all I know, that could happen soon. I just know the new position is that they won’t let him play through pain since reinjury means losing him for the year.
Man. With Estrella’s foot troubles, Carr getting banged up today, and whatever is going on with D-Stone, we might be really really hurting for depth

Thanks for sharing what you know. I’ll just keep my fingers crossed it can heal on its own. As I posted earlier in this thread, health is my biggest concern with this team.

With Dubar not playing yet again today, it’s looking like we’re down to 10 scholarship contributors on this roster. Boswell is likely only playing mop-up minutes so it’s close to 9. If Estrella goes down with an injury, that’s 8, which means we’re getting extremely thin and foul trouble in big games could cripple us.

Barnes required Dubar to practice five consecutive practices before he can play. I think he’ll be clear before UVA. Hoping he can reintegrate, and make a dent.

Stress foot injuries in bigs is never good and the fact it was re-aggravated is worse. Dubar definitely going to be needed in November and December so let's hope his time away helped him mentally

Emmanuel w the steal and layup and the announcer said laid it in w the right hand.?

Really guy?
I mean he was technically right? maybe he was going for the Captain Obvious Award? All jokes aside that kid is quite the story.. 5 points 2 blocks a rebound and a steal does not look that impressive... for anyone that didn't watch the game. That kid deserves a 30 for 30. Contributing starter minutes at D1 school is amazing and shooting almost 70% from the field for the season. Most folks cant do that with 2 arms.

Wonder what Coach has said about prioritizing 3’s and/or at the rim shots. Not taking as many might be THE PLAN, not a lack of ability. The number of lobs and kick outs seems to indicate that is a bigger objective this season with this squad.

I think they tried to bring him back to fast. That seems to be the consensus. There’s no prediction for when he’ll be back, but they’ll be more cautious since he wasn’t recovered enough.
Hate hearing that. Really need his offense in the paint. Guessing when Okpara goes out, we play small ball with Phillips?

I just found as I was browsing through the updated NCAA basketball stats that the Vols are #1 in the country in FG% and tied for fourth in eFG%. We lose Dalton and then see these numbers….just makes me smile.
The AP game probably juiced those a bit. There was a point late in the first half where we were over 80% which is just bonkers.
