The Official #11 Tennessee vs. UTEP Game Thread, 1:00 PM ET, SEC Network+

Posts become historical records for the program. Responses let all readers, especially targets and their support folks know there are responsible adults willing to stand up for the coaches and players. Absence of responses can be interpreted as general acceptance of the thoughts or concepts. I would prefer a don’t like button, but mods don’t, sooooooooo……
Never heard a recruit reference chat board comments as a reason for picking/passing on a school. If they did, I'd suggest they have their head examined. I can't imagine overlooking tradition, culture, facilities etc. for comments made by a bunch of knuckleheads. I've also never heard coaches reference chat board activities either. I think most people with common sense take it for what it is, mostly nonsense by a bunch of people that have never played or coached the game themselves. And every school has the same nutjob fans on every website.

If your kid was a hot recruit what stone would you not turn over as part of your analysis of your top teams? Boards are just part of the fabric, that also includes interactions with fans on visits. You think trashing of coaches and players does not get brought up by opposing forces?

On the other hand so does roiling out the carpet color of choice, articles about consecutive sellouts and hot human interest stories like Go Fund Me responses.

It all counts.

The one stone I would not turn over would be message boards. It's the equivalent of reddit for sports.

I can't fathom a recruit saying " I loved the visit, the coaches made me feel like family, the the scheme is compatible with my skills, the fanbase is electric, and they offered me $5mil in NIL.... but I just couldn't get past what NitroUnicornVol posted about the offense. I'll pass"
