The two and a half years I spent in Hampton Roads were easily the most unpleasant. Yes, that would include my deployments overseas. Norfolk, Hampton, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Newport News are a total cesspool of human waste.

I would rather do a 6 month Baltops than spend a week in Norfolk.

Haven't seen this in quite sometime. Used to have it posted in my office.

As a USAF Retiree, with no dog in the fight, I will say it....

GO ARMY! BEAT NAVY!

fwiw I'll be cheering Army too. Most of my extended family did AF but I have a cousin who is in the army. Nothing against Navy just don't have much connection to it. Plus I like the underdog.

Two things. The area has really cleaned itself up in the last decade and you just have to know where to go. The Chick's Beach area is lovely. Like a tropical island away from the rest of Hampton Roads. Yet only a twenty minute drive to work.

The area boasts great fresh and salt water fishing, great golf courses and the beach. I can't complain a whole lot.
