Bob interviewed Rick

I couldn’t find streaming audio. Maybe it was 990 or 99.1 over the air. The streaming link on utsports switched over to football.

Was Bob sitting court side with Barnes or could he have done it on his cell phone?

I guess Bert usually interviews the player of the game so Stevie interviewing Cade was the normal format. Bob got a chance to wolf down a hot dog or two

I don’t know. I think they’ll struggle until they can integrate the 15 new players. Hard to do in a short period of time. I’m convinced that it’s almost impossible with a team full of transfers to build a culture. Got to have a mix of homegrown players and a few strategic transfers.
A bunch (like 5) came with the coach no? That would help.

Great game other than the turnovers. We handled their run to begin the second half well by responding and pushing the lead back out. ZZ much better shooting, but double digit turnovers is inexcusable. He has to be better against good conference opponents or that will kill us.

Lanier is a solid player. When he's making shots we are going to be hard to beat.

Gainey with a solid performance. Need that from him on a consistent basis.

Cade Philips with a really nice game.

Estrella needs to get healthy. I think we will need him once we hit conference play.

If this team can just figure out how to get to 80 most nights they will win a lot of games, because the defense is lights out.

In the postgame radio interview, Coach Barnes read off Mashack's paltry stats for the game, then concluded by saying, "Mashack dominated the game for us today."

Love Jahmai. Love Barnes. Love this following this team.

What did he say about ZZ’s double-double? I’d guess he was happy that he played through it in the 2nd half instead of folding after the abysmal first half.

It sounded like it was in the locker room. It was short.

RB mentioned the TOs. Said ZZ was getting use to his new team mates and all the TOs were not ZZs fault.

Very happy with the games by Mashack and Cade

It was interesting... Barnes said Z is "taking too much on himself--and he knows it, we've talked about it" then he said (regarding the turnovers today) that the other players need to start carrying more of the load. That surprised me!
[edit: Now that I'm getting to watch the game, it doesn't surprise me.]

He said he knows Zakai will figure it out. But instead of criticizing the turnovers, he talked about how proud he was that when L-ville got it within 9 points, Zakai hit two big shots to stop the run.

Barnes had praise for every player, citing something that each did well or contributed, even Bishop. The only player that Barnes had mostly constructive criticism for was Estrella, and even that was in the context of how good he can be.

Look for Coach Barnes to be appearing as Santa Claus at a mall near you!

Zz had a good game but forced a couple of passes to the middle which were turnovers. His 3point shooting is coming around but he did two free throws on a fouled 3point shot. Our guards shot well and played some good defense. Our front court has to get a bit more aggressive under the basket on both offense and defense. I did seen a lot of progress since the last game.

How to dunk

Nice recall of a classic movie scene! 👍👍
"It Happened One Night" (1934)

The long bus ride, in the darkest times of the Great Depression, and how the passengers entertained and took care of each other (while others worked angles to take advantage of people) is something I'd show U.S. History classes. It relates so much that of the reality of the times that no book can describe.

A pretty good lesson for rough times today.
