I don't really care about the "correct" way to pronounce Vescovi's name, what I care about is Fran Fraschilla getting butthurt about Tennessee fans and calling them idiots. Here's why - it's NOT the fans' fault. EVERY broadcast involving Tennessee for the last two years has pronounced Vescovi's name the old way. As far as Tennessee fans know, that's the right way. And of course they're going to tweet at Fraschilla if he's suddenly saying his name differently. They haven't had any chance to absorb what he's saying. Him getting pissy and calling fans idiots is just childish and unprofessional. Any broadcaster personality worth their paycheck would damn well know that people would react in that way.
And -- AND -- he's rubbing the issue in everyone's face by repeatedly saying the name this new way, over and over, like a child with a you-know-what-eating grin on his face. He's antagonizing people on purpose. Childish and unprofessional.
