The Official #17 Tennessee vs. Chattanooga Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, SEC Network

Not to dance on anyone's parade but, the chances of Vescovi taking his SAT in December and being cleared by January are slim and none. Ask Plavsic how it works for international players. took him 4 months just to get denied.
He was denied Day 1, he needed a waiver to play...don’t think you’ll see the same with Vescovi.

I dont recall seeing any of your posts prior to the Washington game. You been waiting for 6 games to come out with this post? You forgot one thing , Tn is young and unproven. Just because Turner and Bowden were coming back did not mean this team is proven. Now go back over ----> and STHU

Isn’t if funny how the Washington game didn’t prove anything to him; but this one tells him we’ll struggle big time this year?

But nah, he’s no troll.

Yea he is a troll just looking for attention. It is odd how the Chatt game told him all he needed to know. Well since Tn is going to suck ,we will not have to worry about him coming back

Rough night for the good ole boys. Let’s hope they got it out of their system and step up for FSU Friday! Sometimes teams can get bored so I’m optimistic they won’t have a hangover from this outing.

On a positive note.....it’s nice to have a great D, especially when your own shots aren’t falling.

Tennessee held UTC to just 46 points
Held them to 34%, and 31% from 3
Tennessee got 30 defensive rebounds
Tennessee got 4 steals and had 7 blocks
Tennessee was called for only 11 fouls
Tennessee also held UTC’s bigs to 4 of 14 (28%).......while Tennessee’s “bigs” were 7 of 13 (54%)

It's just going to be a different year. We are playing good defense and rebounding aggressively. The offense doesn't have a lot of weapons, and if JB or LT go cold or silent for a half, we will struggle to score. If Pons can play like he has in a couple of earlier games and JJ/JJJ can get some confidence, we'll be alright. For an anticipated "down year," we're off to a good start. It sucks Plav can't play... We really need some size under the basket.

Now comes a big step up in opposition with Florida State and this is going to be a defensive slugfest with a lot of shots challenged inside and we need Pons and Fulkerson to hit double figures in points to win this game.

Disappointing night, but these games happen. Need to regroup and lock in. FSU played their most complete game of the season tonight, scoring 116 points on Chicago state and winning by nearly 70. They’re going to be coming into this game on a hot streak, probably will be favored too, so it’s going to be a really tough test. Hopefully this team got all of their bricks out of the way tonight. Gotta hit shots this weekend.

One thing FSU has is depth.....a lot of depth. They have 9 players that average 10 minutes or more per game & another 3 that average almost 9 minutes per game. They also have 17.......seventeen players who have played so far this season.

They can work at wearing you down and can foul without worry.

Need to quit shooting 3’s!

Tennessee probably isn’t going to “live or die” by the 3; however the way this current O is set up, they certainly have to shoot a decent amount of 3’s.

Tennessee is shooting over 40% from 3....which is good.

Tennessee also has 4 players (scholarship players) shooting the 3 50% or better.....Turner is 7 for 28 (25%) but we know he is capable of shooting it much better. Turner shot the 3 at 32% last year (hampered by injury) and almost 40% the previous year.

Sure a bunch of 3’s look bad when they aren’t falling; however the 3 is a decent aspect of Tennessee’s offensive game.......and they certainly have players who can knock them down.

Just realized that Chatt and Bama state are technically part of the emerald coast classic. Don’t really get that but whatever

Then you are going to be disappointed. We will continue to take quite a few 3's because we have to. That is our strength and advantage offensively. You should have said we need to start MAKING more 3's.
I hope we improve. Not a good start. You are right.

This kind of offensive output is what happens when Pons does not bring his offense. Bench scoring will be inconsistent all year. But like Fish was saying we play hard on defense rebound team rebound on defense and play smart so teams don't necessarily like to play us.

They need for Jalen Johnson to step up and score. If he dosent I think Gaines will pass him up. Regardless one of those two need to bring a little fire power in off the bench.
