The Official #17 Tennessee vs. Ole Miss Game Thread, 3:30 PM ET, SEC Network

JJJ and ON HAVE to play well offensively--have to shoot well--- for us to beat decent competition. HAVE TO. If they don't, we're sunk. JJJ was our leading scorer today--6 of 13 from the field with 4 treys and 4-4 at the line. 20 points. Huge. ON was 4-8 and 9 points. We simply do not have nearly enough scoring. We get a little scoring from our 3 centers (10 points collectiively) plus a bit from Philipps. And that is it. Vescovi, JJJ and ON have to be the guys--and it goes without saying that our defense has to be super good from here on, precisely because scoring is an issue--particularly because every opponent we play is going to dog Vescovi, who now has the extra burden of having to be on principal PG. That makes it even more imperative that JJJ and ON come through. Our winning margin without Ziggy has become very thin.
ON underperformed. Two rebounds and 3 turnovers just won‘t suffice against good teams.

I have been working this afternoon, so didn't get to watch or listen to the game. I just checked utsports.com and under the "Results" tab, it said we had lost 70-55. My heart sank. So then I came here to VolNation and y'all are all happy and talking about playing tomorrow. I thought, "What the . . ." And then I realized utsports.com was incorrect. Why would they do that? But GBO!

They did the opposite after the Arizona game. I had to get up really early the next morning, so I went to bed, woke up, thought we'd won. Then I learned we lost.

Mashack should. Defense should improve w/o teams being able to expose ZZ size. Vols didn’t appear to be “with it” early.
It happend in the second half against Auburn too but we hunkered down and stopped it in the second half. I think our depth wore them down.
