The Official #19 Tennessee vs. Kentucky Game Thread, 1:00 PM ET, CBS

Hired a coach that regressed every year while he was at UCF.

That’s far from a “huge upgrade”
Over cornbread? the dude who couldn’t defend a slant, manage the qb competition, and tried to burn our program down and piss on our ashes with NCAA sanctions? The dude who lost to Ga frikin state? That dude?
yeah, I’d say we got a huge upgrade...gtfo with your clown posts

Tennessee settled for too many three point looks instead of driving to the basket and drawing more fouls inside and getting to the free throw line.

Tennessee will have trouble with long teams in the NCAA Tournament.

It’s becoming clear why Texas fired Barnes. Every year his teams underachieve

God, you can't win with small ball when it comes to Championships. Barnes has recruited high caliber BIGS, they just chose to go elsewhere.

Exactly. $ometime$ there are rea$on$ recruit$ decide to go to other $chool$ in$tead of Tennessee. Perhap$ Coach Barnes’ staff i$n’t offering the type of perk$ other $taff$ are offering prized recruit$ the$e day$.

Keon was in a funk shooting the ball today. Springer didn't play well either. We go as they go. They're freshmen who are going to have off nights. One will stay one more year

Sadly we expected more out of the post going into the year and when the freshmen don't play well we lose.

Both should stay, there isn’t a NBA guy on the roster. Most will be g league for a while then off to France. Fulkerson will be working as a real estate agent in Knoxville when he’s done

Prior to today they were sitting on the expectations of being the number 7 and number 9 players drafted. If that is the case - both will go.

Rick Barnes will be here until he decides to retire and i think he deserves that;)
FFS... I didn’t say he shouldn’t be the coach here...y’all keep conflating arguments.
What we are saying is that he is not infallible, and if we want this team do do anything in March he’s going to have to be less stubborn and make some adjustments. Trust me, he’s critical of even his own performance after this bed shatting today

There is something wrong with your keyboard - there are dollar signs all over the place.

You might want to get that checked out.

Heupel is an upgrade over Pruitt but he’s not a huge upgrade.

A huge upgrade would be someone like Matt Campbell or Luke Fickell

refs had nothing to do with this game and yes they sucked but you get that in every SEC game. Ky could not throw it in the ocean in the 2nd half and extended their lead from the FT line and Tn could not even make their FTs. Like I said earlier the real Ky 7-13 team showed up in the 2nd half and still won.

I said that refs missed calls aren’t the only way they can create a 15 point advantage. It’s stupid to say refs had nothing to do with this game when KY can’t make a field goal but stretches out their lead from the free throw line.

Exactly! I feel certain in saying Barnes does not foster an atmosphere of non compliance and instructs his assistants to play by the rules as well. You can see it in his character and the type of players he recruit.

While there are other sketchy coaches and staffs around college basketball and several are in the SEC that are breaking the rules including one that issued a self imposed post season ban only because they knew they would struggle this year and another has the head coach on tape. I think them and maybe some others are probably still at it.

Yeah...in the one game they play.

You could be a politician. You were a Pruitt cheerleader, then very anti-Pruitt, and now defending Pruitt again.

I'm not sold on Heupel at all but hiring anyone with a pulse would have been a huge upgrade over Beldar Cheathead.

Please do not give NBA opinions you clearly aren’t qualified to give. Johnson and Springer are both NBA players

In normal years you take a split with Kentucky any day....so this isn't a lost season. We just aren't one of the better teams in college. No crime in that. Id just prefer they didn't hype us up so dang much every year only to watch us disappoint every time.

Nope.

I never liked Pruitt from the start. Especially when he decided to stay at Bama during the National Championship game instead of getting a head start on recruiting.

Nobody hardly knew who Heupel was compared to the other names that was being thrown around.

He’s definitely an upgrade over Pruitt but huge is a little overboard.
