Around signing with the MLB they found out he was missing a ligament in his throwing arm. Stock went down and bounced around minors before kearning the knuckle. So yes, he was a typical pitcher at UT, I don’t recall him throwing Randy Johnson heat but certainly more than a 60mph knuckle ball...I heard RA Dickey used to throw heat while at UT. Is that true? I know as a pro he didn't. I cant remember who told me that and I've never seen footage from those days

Yes. Rod Delmonico rode R. A. Dickey nearly to death his first year here. He threw approximately 150 pitches in the regional finals against Arizona State that year (1994, IIRC).I heard RA Dickey used to throw heat while at UT. Is that true? I know as a pro he didn't.
