Post notables here.

OL and TE's bench pressed friday night.

TE Orson Charles had 35 reps

OL D Molk finished with 41 reps, 3rd most by a OL.

Robert Griffin ran a 4.38 forty yard dash. So there's that.

Stephen hill, Georgia tech wideout, ran a 4.30. Very impressive.

Also Andrew luck with a 36" vertical, and a 10'4 Broad jump. Very impressive. Compare to Cam Newton last year 35" - 10'6

Jordan Jefferson also ran a 4.5 and has an impressive looking arm so far. Can't wait for the running backs.

Luck also just ran a 4.59 40 unofficial, same time as Cam last year. I'm kind of surprised by these nearly identical numbers

Underwear Olympics or a good way to evaluate talent?

I think it's a little bit of both but game tapes don't lie and I think how a player did in college is the best way to project their NFL ability.

At this point, the NFL Combine and NFL talent evaluation is miles ahead of where the NBA is. Sure, the NFL isn't perfect, but there are nowhere near as many Hindenburg busts (percentage wise) as the NBA has had.

...one of the best things about the combine is what you don't see, mental evaluation and the ability to digest the playbook.

A lot of guys can play in college on the fringes of a scheme with a lot of room to freelance. But not everyone can commit to a devoted scheme with responsibilities.

officially his 40 is a 4.41

but that's still quite good, especially for a QB

Luck with a 4.67 officially. Mayock is acting like Luck will be able to run like Cam, but he lacks the burst and cutting ability Cam has. Still an impressive performance nonetheless...
