In all honesty if you approach 4.3 at the combine, that's exceptional football speed. Ridiculous.

My bad. Guess I had checked it earlier.

It's no problem; it always takes them a while before official times actually come out/are posted

Oftentimes they put up the unofficial ones till then.

(could have been worse; you could have been one of those guys who, in the past, posted "Player X just broke the 40 record at the combine!" after an unofficial time)

Sure, all we had at the time was hand times. Expecting them to go up, of course.

right. again, not calling anyone out as being wrong

just listing the official times since they've been posted online since these earlier posts

QB speed is nearly irrelevant when it comes to the draft and playing QB in thr NFL.

QBs in the NFL make their bones with their arms and brains.

Poole's short arms and small hands will concern some GMs. His field vision and decision making are already in doubt.

Yes but it definitely is a huge advantage to have...

I would say thats only the case with michael vick type speed. I think footwork and lateral speed are much more important

I didn't think so until I watched Cam this year, but his speed and elusiveness made the offense more dynamic, even without Vick speed...

True, but he is closer on the spectrum to a Ben Roethlisberger, who isn't fast in a straight line but is big enough to carry serious momentum, and has good lateral mobility and quickness (which I should have said instead of lateral speed earlier).

Cam's gonna be a pretty good QB once he learns the fundamentals of the QB position -- this said after an amazing year winging his way through the league. Imagine Cam with the technique of a Brees or a Brady. He pretty much brute forced his way through last season and still dominated at times, which is almost unheard of.

He rarely keeps his shoulders square the line of scrimmage -- never seen a QB do this better than Brees. He did a decent job of looking-off safeties, but room for improvement here. His footwork was horrible at times, but was still somehow able to drive a ball 70 yards down the field accurately even when throwing off the wrong foot.

Amazing athlete that has a lot of room to grow. He is deceptively fast for a 250 lb. man as well. Very quick feet and can reach top speed in a couple of steps. Football looks like a miniature toy version in his hands.

Underwear Olympics or a good way to evaluate talent?

I think it's a little bit of both but game tapes don't lie and I think how a player did in college is the best way to project their NFL ability.

Yeah they do. A guy that's too slow for the NFL might look fast against Colorado.
